I've been a little negative in recent weeks in these comments - nothing to do with the team, they're really putting something together - so I just wanna express how good our second try was - a real thing of beauty that one : off the ruck to Clark, first man to Fish who goes into contact and swivels and finds CHT out the back, who pumps and then throws a faceball across rts to lofi on the edge -- it was extraordinary -- when the commentators go on about 'tries of the season' this probably won't get a look in: i reckon it should as it's peak warrior ball 2026 - a style of play we're going to see go deep this year

A major calculation for signing new players or extending current players is also what juniors are expected to track into the first grade squad? You have to calculate making sure the path and slots are there.

The Warriors are manufacturing their future superstars.

Absolute lock ins for the NRL squad in the next two years appear to be.

Joseph Ratcliffe - Development is ahead of his projected growth curve - On track to be our best ever home grown NRL Fullback - A+ Talent

That is 4 - 6 players with serious ability and impact that will strengthen the roster that you need to find slots in the top 30 relatively soon. All potential stars - All potential 5 - 10 year Warriors.

Then for these guys you find slots in the roster or you accept they will leave the club looking for opportunities / making room for the next wave of talent coming through.

The club can legitimately be seen as a place that will make you a better player. That has never been the case in the past 30 years. Even 2002 was more a influx of super talent combined with a couple of wily old dogs. It didn't end up being sustainable.

Cleary got a lot from limited resources with the help of a few bright talents, but he didn't really add much to his players.

This is a time where you have got to remind yourself to sit back and enjoy the ride...and hope Webster does a Bellamy and stays for 25 years. Interesting that it was Agar and McFadden that convinced Webby to look at Ford. It is a good team of people running the club.

Our recruitment position must be becoming more and more attractive by the week. Do you want to become the best player you possibly can? Then, sign with the Warriors. If Ford and Boyd are Dally M contenders, then it really says a lot about the education players receive here. They need to milk this point for all it is worth!

You can't be serious. Committing 2.4 million dollars into Rocco Berry based on what? His most consistent season was 2023 when he played 16 games. 800k ÷ 16 = 50k per game.
The club have already poured close to 2M into him for not much return on their investment

All the talk when we signed him was he needed to work on his off the ball stuff. I was a bit worried at the time cause he seemed a bit show boaty to me that he'd buy in to all the non sexy work ethics that undoubtedly Webby and co would expect and inundate him with.

Credit to him tho every interview ive seen he just talks about the work he's putting in on these areas and a team first mentality.....he really has seemed to buy into the Warriors mantra.....so good he that he has cause if there was one area that wouldve have been identified we were desperately lacking in, it was top end speed.....this dude has it in bucketloads.

These teams that are perennial strugglers at the lower end of the table are better advised to take a page out of Webby's book when he first got here.....take the officiating right off the table as a reason u lose games.

Focusing on the bad calls (which there are in every game) absolves your players from taking responsibility for the parts that are under their control and inevitably the reason why u win or lose a game.

A completion rate of 70% when your opposition is running at 86% means your already pushing shit up hill......Ryles would be better addressing the momentum killer errors his team was making as opposed to anything else.

Love that Webby has squashed any ref/victim mentality from our culture and forced our guys to own the tangibles they can control, and is a big factor i think, in why we're now such a consistently high completion/possession rate team with great discipline.

Across 2024-25 Berry started 21 games & finished just 15 of these. The club appears to love him as a person but it's a business. This season has a maximum of 19 games left, he is zero chance of playing them all, but let's say he miraculously gets through 80 minutes in 16 games on the way to the GF, so 37 starts in 3 seasons (31 finishes) at $32k per game (based of an estimated 400k per year) that's a lot of money for a player who's most commonly referred to asset is kick chase

Metcalf is the backup. He's done nothing wrong but that there is no reason to make changes to the halfs.

Nah I think he had a 2 year contract, but the 2nd year was an option in Tanah's favour and there was a bit of surprise as he agreed to 2026 before he even played fg I believe?

I used to post on here religiously for over 10 years, but these days I don’t need to vent as often about this team because we’ve become a genuine top 4 side these last few seasons.

I honestly think we’re entering our premiership window.

Back from the game. This was a tougher win than you think. Some eally solid performances.

Love what AKP brings to the team and CHT and Boyd just work. Saying that, when you have dominated forwards it easier. How good is Erin Clark

In years gone by, we lose this type of game. The effort tonight can't be questioned. We've never been referred to as a team with genuine speed but we now are! We have the players, coaching staff, depth & one hell of a fan base to genuinely shake the comp this year! Enjoy the week off team!

Not Wahs related, but really happy that Volkman is running into a good run of form. After all the shit the dragons put him through, he really deserves it. Played really well in a badly beaten side. Don't know his situation, but hope he gets a permanent contract somewhere. Many clubs (ie Dragons) could do worse than him as a running 7.
