The issue you have if you re-sign Martin & keep Boyd is that you don’t want TMM to play in the centres or at lock. The way Lussick has been used this year playing prop. Although it’s kinda work out now with Sam probably being the 14th man going forward in NRL & Lussick being the starting hooker in Cup.
The way they have been playing Lussick in cup is not so subtlety telling him you have no future at the club.
To his credit he hasn't dropped his lip.

I think we are reading way too much into our 2nd half fades. To put things in context, both games we were in complete control until key injuries in the second half screwed up our forward rotation and forced our young forwards to play longer minutes than they otherwise would. In the Dragons game, I'm pretty sure we had a 1 man bench at one pt with Ford gone after the 41st minute and Bunty gone after the 60th and Niukore going off for 15 mins due to a bogus HIA call as well. In both games we ended up having to play Healey/TMM in the middle which is not ideal. Any team would have lost momentum with those things going on.

So I think the 2nd half fades are more a reflection of these mid-game injuries than any wider implication than people are trying to draw regarding our long term fatigue. In my view, we go on to win both games 13+ if we don't get decimated on the injury front mid-game.

Why would we release Boyd this season? We have 4 halves who all have first grade experience and can do the job. Let him go and it only takes one injury and then the cupboard starts looking fairly bare. It was only last season we ended up with CNK as a make shift 6. We are in a good space, with a squad, with depth in most positions. We release no one this season.

Metcalf would be a fool to walk away from the Warriors.

Webster has changed his life, made him the man, fixed his legs, given him a happy environment, given him whatever position he wants.

What other NRL coach would treat him so, or stick by him when the performances were horribly clunky?

Like I say, Metcalf would be an idiot to walk away without treating the Warriors as first option.

Sure he will be worth more money next round, but the money has nothing to do with why Metcalf came here in the first place.

Fans need to stop fretting about throwing money at this guy and embrace that Webster is going to be one of the small group of NRL coaches that players want to play for.

I would be very disappointed if the Warriors tried to use money as the reason for Metcalf to stay, market value offers no more. If he doesn't want fair market value then it is not about the money it is about geography and not understanding how good his life has been here in New Zealand, as such let him go no worries.

Gannon will be the backup 6
Our successful game plan this year involves both our halves making valuable contributions with the boot. Gannon has 3 kicks in his 12 games this season & didn't even put boot to ball in the game he started at Five-eighth. In the press release when he signed the quotes from McFadden repeatedly used the words backrower & forward. Maybe mid game due to injury, but I very much doubt he'd even feature on the depth chart of #6's

My concern with Laban is he has awesome size and athletic attributes but lacks aggression. He gets punched straight in the mouth by Canberas Big Red twice and stands there, Ale runs in and has to protect him (NSW CUP). When he plays D I have noticed a lot of grabbing, or soft wrap tackles, very little aggressive contact. I don't expect him to be SBW but learn from Capewell, Fish or Marata. Look at Halasima and Vaimauga totally different. He is currently too passive to maximise his greatest attributes, which is is size and athleticism. The knock on him is not his ability, its his head space and lack of aggression, some guys just don't have it, maybe he does decent without it but to be elite I believe he at least needs some TRT shots to help him become what we need, otherwise may swell have a smaller guy like Fatialofa who is a much better attacking threat and EIT who is a much fitter tackle bot (EIT, runs lines as well).
It was interesting with that Big Red situation. That Laban didn't flinch was impressive, but even more impressive was the restraint he showed because he no doubt would have copped a decent suspension like Big Red's if he struck back. It's important to have some level-headeness like that in your lineup. At 21 you would expect to see glimpses of the Eli Katoa flair by now if he was that type of player, but he seems more in line to fill a role similar to the one Shawn Blore is performing for the Storm at the moment.

Geez we enjoy doing things the hard away. Can’t we just pump a team for once or put it way out of reach early? Beggars can’t be choosers I suppose, and in reality, when I look at the games where there has been big comebacks in the second half, it shows we can really dig deep and hang in there.

A big part of me is concerned about the +1pd, but when I analyse it a bit deeper, we have had some big outs over the last few weeks, so to keep winning at all without them has been remarkable. I would hope that once we get more of our first choice starter’s returning, we may click more into gear.

It was heartening to hear Webby and Mitch both allude to being happy with the win but not the performance. Also stating (not in a cliched way either), that we have a lot of improvement in us. They are being honest and tempered in their approach.

All I wanted out of this season was a solid season where we may scrape into the 8 and for our young guns to get plenty of game time. At the moment it’s exceeding that which is exciting. The future is most definitely bright.

We really need JFH and RTS back for this one. DWZ has a rusty first game back, but that's to be expected when you've been on the sidelines for 10 weeks. Assuming Bunty and Ford are out. I think this is what webby goes for:

    1. CNK
    2. DWZ
    3. RTS
    4. Pomps
    5. TT
    6. CHT
    7. LM
    8. JFH
    9. Egan
    10. Barney
    11. Capes
    12. Leka
    13. Erin
    14. Marata
    15. Demi
    16. Laban
    17. Healey

Seems like the reason for dropping Healey was the lack of back cover in the dragons game. Since we have Capes as the back cover here, Webby goes back to using Healey as the straight swap for Egan during the second half.

Given the injury toll, this isn't such a bad looking team. More than capable of beating the dolphins.

Capewell really proving his doubters wrong this year. Sure 2024 was a rough year for him, but it was for everyone in the team. These last few weeks are demonstrating why Webby pushed so hard to get him to us. Not just his work on the ball but his experience off it. LM mentioned in his fox interview that Capewell was the one who went up to him and suggested going for the field goal. His experience playing in big stages like grand finals and SOO is starting to become known in these clutch situations. If ever both Barney and JFH were to be out for us, which is entirely possible during origin, he's my next pick for captain.

Happy Mothers Day to All you Mums out there! We Know your day will have good vibes after that close win (I was... gonna post "We Know your day will have good vibes after that close shave" but, ehm ). Just Friendly banter, Man down, Medic!

Just quietly, this could Actually be Our Year. Keep it in-house, ok, shhhh.

This game. Hough! Wasn't pumped up like the usual, me... drags are mid bottom 8 and have everything to play for so I wasn't too sure how this one would pan out, tbh. Got the result though, 2pts by 1pt is relieving... yep that's Gold! (y):)

Capewell was, again, Monster! And Truly the slowest most bad'est beard'est mf'in center in the game, Love 'is effort/passion/work! Egan made some try saving tackles, I can't remember the last time he got injured (even though I could google it) ribs are NO joke and I hope he'll be ok for next week. Barnett lead the way like Captain America. He's a place in that NSW team for sure. Can't praise 'em enough for deciding to come over here, from a decent club, to better Our Club. Laban, Leka and Demi are in a great position/team and gaining the momentum from 'em. DWZ's first game back was ok for mine. Tough game back but as MFW posted "Dal wins it with a knock on." 😂 was so true and crack-up, hard! Dust the rust off, Dallin, and go at it like you can do. Pompey's our #4! Earlier I hoped for a #3 Ali and #4 Berry. Berry battles injury, Leiataua's learning left-side, Adam's mastered both!

A Special thanks to Temepara Bailey (Happy Mothers Day) for her roll in the concealed plan for our very First GF. Her son, well, he's Off The Fu(kin Hook!!! Looks like he can Sledge with the best and proofs in the pudding he's the Best buy in the game. Onya Girl!

Up The WAHS! 🖐️😛 and again, Happy Mothers Day Mums! 💙💚❤️

Not many teams are stopping.the opposition in the 2nd half once they have a roll on and their tails are up. This is a momentum game. The last two weeks in particular we’ve won the last 20 minutes after being beaten up after halftime.

Raiders today couldn’t do that. Several other teams couldn’t this weekend. We have and are.

That’s the most promising thing. We still have levels to go to. But we have so much grit we just won’t be beaten.

    That’s how premierships are won.
