How the fuck did Metcalf nail every conversion in that wind. Honestly some great kicking from both halves. No matter the position they seemed to land the ball in-between the 10 and goal.

Also Clark and Leka are beasts!

One of Egan's best games. He carried our attack for the most part.

People getting into our attack. I get that, but fuck our defense was way worse. Way worse. No way we should of let in that amount.

TMM should've been our 7 with metcalf at 6 ffs, the Australian sharks junior better be worth it. How he didn't get first dibs a 7 is beyond me, he's 29 too, in his peak.
Lets not shit the bed just yet, what if this pairing works and we make finals or even just miss, then we are in a better place now?

If these two turn 30 and our young bulls are weapons in four to five years then are we worried about TMM?

Webby has gone youth, somthing we all screamed for!

Got to say I was a little crestfallen seeing Kosi on the list but it is what it is. He's mostly remembered for his shockers with that one game against the Storm being his most forgettable performance. He has shown glimpses of class in some of his showings so heres hoping he can pull another rabbit out of his ass. I got faith he'll triumph tonight. He'll be targeted so he better be up for it. This will be a watershed moment for him and his future as a first grader. Sink or swim so he better be fucking Michael Phelps or we're all doomed. You got this Ed 💪...

I know I've given him shit, but I really wish Kosi the best this evening... Prove us all wrong big fella!
I’m doing to do @Kav1 on this and say it’s getting a bit over the top. I am as harsh as the next bloke, but after 2 pages it’s a bit of a pile on.

I hope Kosi kills it today. I think the conditions might suit him and Pompey. More bash and crash direct running, kicks will slow up faster etc.

I understand the disappointment towards Ed being selected in the team list forum. But not sure what else AW was supposed to do given the 23 he named. Minimizing disruptions by keeping Pompey at centre and bringing Kosi in as a direct replacement seemed to be the obvious thing to do. Kosi is rocks and diamonds on defense but his work through the middle might actually be helpful in this game. Tigers also have some disruptions with Skleton dropping out. We can still win the middle battle with the named pack. I think Bunty will be help us shore up the middle defense, which is more important than ever in a game like today.

Bunty should start, he may as well absorb all the shit at the beginning of the game and keep the better players fresh.

I’d bring Erin off the bench to replace him. And bring some real intensity.

Start 3 props vs 3 props.

Bunty, Barnett and JFH vs May, Pole and Twal
    We win that battle imo
And have a more impactful bench
I really like Clark starting. He sets our defensive line speed really well and it forces anyone who subs on to keep pace after.

I think we've played much tougher opposition - that's my main hope for tomorrow, we're much more resilient for having gone against the raiders, manly and the chooks vs the knights, eels and dolphins
I really liked one point Webby made in the press conference after the Roosters game too. He mentioned how instead of getting frustrated that we're not scoring when we get in the red zone and doing dumb stuff we just go back into the system, keep building pressure and points will come eventually. Seemed like this happened a bit last year where we would drop off after not scoring points and then let off the pressure with a dumb penalty or offside at the beginning of opposition sets whereas this year we seem a lot better disciplined at not letting teams up the field easy.

Can we stop fighting over who is better out of tohu & Clarke? One is premiership winner, international captain & one of the best ball player locks of all time. The other is a young, talented athlete who has 1 international cap to his name. It’s night and day.

But irrespective of this, this doesn’t discount what Erin is currently producing. He’s punching above expectations, and that’s all we can ask for.

Will he be a future elite lock? Probably not. Does it matter? Probably not. There’s no other player like tohu, that would come to the warriors so we need to stop the comparisons and accept our new direction.

Erin Clarke is great, but he will never be Tohu. Nor does he need to, to be successful.

Had a good watch of chad's brakedown of the warriors v roosters game and thought i'd post my thoughts from the video here.

    • Apparently, we are one of the most deadly teams in the opposition 10, which is interesting.
    • We played with a really high completion rate and ground them down.
    • Something the Warriors did well—and that the roosters could learn from according to him—is straightening up our edges when a play isn’t working. For example, when attacking down the right-hand wing towards TT, if it's clear the play won’t work, they’d pull it back inside to Marata to straighten the attack. Instead of forcing the play and relying on individual brilliance or hoping for defensive errors, the warriors kept applying pressure and turning that into long won trys. Meanwhile, the Roosters tended to bet on making the play work no matter what.
    • Chad made 42 tackles—the most he’s ever made in a game. For comparison, Victor only made 41, while Wong, his edge back-rower, made 54. Chad was the Roosters’ third-highest tackler, which shows how well the Warriors ground them down. Fatigue makes it much harder to play, and we need to apply that same pressure on Api and Luai when we face the Tigers. If we wear them down early, we can dominate the last 20 minutes.
    • He also kept mentioning how hard it was because we constantly bombed into the corners, pinning their wingers inside the first 10 meters. That made it nearly impossible for them to start an attacking set in the red zone.

Do give a geez at the analysis here. It's really interesting to get an educated take from a player who played in that game. Arugably one of the best sources for info on how the boys played last week.

WARRIORS TARGET SUPER LEAGUE YOUNG GUN

The Warriors have wasted little time trying to secure a Dylan Walker replacement after offering young English forward Morgan Gannon a long-term deal.
It is understood the Warriors have put a three-year contract offer on the table for Gannon to consider who is in the final year of his deal at Leeds. At just 21, Gannon has already played more than 50 Super League games.

He has made his comeback this year after missing the entire 2024 season to recover from concussion. Gannon suffered a concussion in a pre-season game in February last year and give his history opted to take a year off. He has successfully returned to the field this season prompting the Warriors to pursue him heavily.
A host of Super League clubs are also keen to secure him.
    Don't like that concussion history….
