Rejects any notion that the compassionate releases are an issue. That it's just a reflection of our geographical situation.
Where we release Walker, Montoya, AFB, Aitken etc we also gain JFH, Clark, CNK.
Apparently there have been 6 or so (kiwi?) players asking to come to the Warriors in the last 12 months, but they haven't worked out due to the salary cap.
Also expects a couple of calls after this news of players who could be available, even from ones that he doesn't currently know are available.

Erin started, then the better player in Walker comes off the bench and replaces him.

And on top of that Erin doesn’t play 80, so we lose absolutely nothing. We just move his output to the 20min mark.

Main reason I like Clark starting is he looks to set the tone on Defence.
He stiffens the middle next to Fish and Barney at the start of the game.

Thanks Dylan Walker for your service everytime you subbed on you tried your best and something always happened the team lifted, great ball playing etc.

Each time though they are being replaced by a talented youngster (doesn’t sound like Pasikala has worked out as the Montoya replacement though). Halasima apparently trained all off season at lock so could play 60 minutes there in place of Walker and you could bring Laban onto the bench to cover the second row.
Despite all of the comings and goings we are still remaining strong in NSW Cup so we must be doing something right. A couple of marquee signings would be good though

I'm not unhappy, as it is a chance for Healy who I think will do us alright there.

Walker is long in the tooth and likely to break down/deteriorate on a fairly sizeable contract.

We have the room to make a big move.

We'll see how it pans out. Big shock though.

Sign of a good club in my opinion. I am sure the reason is genuine as there's been rumours for a while.

Not to be that guy - but he looked unhappy in the team song Rd 2... And I thought that was weird at the time.

To cut the guy some slack being away from your kids would be tough.

If he's not able to be 100% focused on the job because of whatever family shit he's got going on in Aus, then let him go. Thanks for your service Dylan, you'll be missed.

All I know as far as retention goes is, I want Ali and Leka to be still playing here in ten years time.

Ali is the most naturally talented centre we have ever had and Leka is up there with Ali’s uncle as our most talented edge forward. Develop them and keep them!!

This cuddles thing needs to die.

It wasn’t just the fact that CNK made 300 running metres.
It was the quality of his runs.
He turned back the clock and showed flair and stepping that I thought had passed him by.

I honestly think people are missing the forest for the trees here, I get all the concern over attack, I would like to flog teams by 30 plus aswell. But at the end of the day we are winning and nicely too. Let the halfs learn and back out defence to allow them to we need to go back to the 2023 defence that we built that season off.

People are seriously calling for CNK to move after a 30 run for 300m MOTM performance? Bloody hell I'm glad it's Webby in the coaching box and not one of you!

What a difference 2-3 weeks makes. It was the apocalypse in here after Vegas, but I always like the quote “you’re never as bad as you think you are, and you’re never as good as you think you are”. It could be aptly applied to this side. Yes Vegas was shithouse but mightn’t have been as bad as many initially assessed. And these wins have been great for confidence but let’s maybe keep expectations in check.

Couple of thoughts from my view at Bay 29, although much has already been said.

- A great grinding contest. To come out on top in a grind like that is a testament to the trust in Webby imo.
- There are some hardy workers in that side, CNK, Clark, Mitch…fantastic.
- Said it last week too, the way JFH holds the middle D together is epic. The guys a f’n bully.
- It’s been mentioned plenty already that Leka was fantastic and as much as I’d like to see him more purely because he is fantastic to watch, I still think the way his minutes managed (along with the other young bucks) is the right way to go long term. It’s super exciting seeing these guys come through and develop.
- Rog will be a loss but surely Berry comes in and Pompey moves out?
- The next two away will be tough but think we can come away with points.

He got to run the game ball out in full kit too, I have a family member with Down Sindrome so seeing something like that hits a little different.

The warriors bring the hurt! That’s two games at home where we’ve messed up the opposition just by being harder. I was wondering how Barney and Fish would gel, but it’s like two of the hardest hc bouncers at a Rotorua nightclub. You’re gonna get some pain, and they keep going for 80 mins. Then if you get through them you got Jake the muss and Erin Clark running at you full noise…..

Plodding attack at times. But thoroughly enjoying the lack of enjoyment rhe Aussie teams are having playing at Mt Smart. There’s the pride!
