All the talk of Crosby reminds me of all the things that were said about Ale. He looks to have a good head on his shoulders judging by how he handles himself. Wishing him all the best in his development but yeah seems a fair bit away which is understandable.

For all those creaming on Crosby, I think need to temper their expectations. He’s played 1 game off the bench for NSW cup, he’s 21 & has played league for what, two years? He’s likely 2-3 years away if he even makes it, and will need to be consistent in cup for this two years, starting & dominating. Looking at his physical attributes, he’s too small for an NRL prop, probably more a 2nd rower, similar to a Liam Martin, powerful, fast, mobile.

Just think people need a dose of reality. He’s an exciting prospect but needs to grind like he is for another two years, continue improving in cup & wait for an opportunity. No way does he deserve a top 30 contract, he’s not even a good cup player.

The One New Zealand Warriors have been ranked among the country’s fastest growing businesses – and the only sporting organisation – in this year’s Deloitte Fast 50.

Established to celebrate Kiwi businesses pushing the limits, breaking records and redefining fast growth, the Fast 50 index is determined by revenue growth percentage over the last three years, the Warriors emerging from the Covid area to post an increase of 145 per cent over the period.

It ranks the club 36th on a list featuring strong representation from organisations in the services, construction, technology and retail industries.

The result reflects a growth surge since returning home from three seasons in isolation in Australia, culminating in the Warriors creating history this year as the first club in NRL history to sell out every home game in a season.

“The growth this year’s Fast 50 businesses have achieved over the past three years is a tribute to their agility, innovation and self-belief,” said Deloitte private partner and Fast 50 lead James Arlidge.

“The variety of industries in the index this year also reflects the depth and breadth of the entrepreneurial talent we have here in Aotearoa.”

As well as 13 sold-out games in New Zealand this year and eight last season, the One New Zealand Warriors pre-sold all their hospitality options before the 2024 campaign and achieved exponential growth in sponsorship, membership and merchandise revenue.

“We’re thrilled to be ranked alongside so many impressive organisations in the Deloitte Fast 50, and even more so because we’re the sole representative to be ranked from the sporting industry and proudly wholly New Zealand-owned,” said One New Zealand Warriors CEO Cameron George.

“It’s great recognition and a tribute to so many people in our club who have made this possible.”

The One New Zealand Warriors set new attendance records during their 30th season in the competition in 2024, topping even the numbers achieved in the club’s 1995 debut campaign.

The aggregate crowd figure for all 12 regular season home games including the Magic Round clash against Penrith in Brisbane totalled 295,302.

That number topped the tally of 290,946 in 1995 – when the then-named Ericsson Stadium had a bigger capacity of more than 30,000 – and it was also well clear of 272,220 for the club’s 12 home games last year.

This season the One New Zealand Warriors averaged 24,608 for their 12 home games, up from 22,685 last season.

The combined total of home and away crowds topped half a million for just the second time in the club’s history, up to 512,218 from last year’s 506,439. The previous best was 1995’s 495,624.

    Looks like:

    1. Kalani Going (confirmed)
    2. Tanner Stowers Smith (confirmed)
    3. Luke Hanson (reported)
    4. Eddie Ieremia (nothing reported but almost a sure thing given his NSW cup appearances last year)
    5. Sio Kali (nothing reported but too talented to not include, made of glass but if we don't offer him it someone else might?? Plus we need to start our wing succession planning)

The last spot hopefully they leave open and let pre-season decide. My guess it goes to one of the hookers Tafua or Auloa.

There's a lot of guys at pre-season who could compete for it though, Moimoi, Durbin, Tuipulotu-Vea all look good.
I really really want us to hold onto Toby Crosby. He looks impressive

Bit of talk on the knights forum that Adam Blair is trying to get Jack Thompson back there, who came over and won a Harold Matts title with us. It was Blair who was mentioned some time back on there too regarding interest in TMM. Did the club have a falling out with Adam Blair?
Very happy that Adam is gone. Supposedly he is an incredibly bad coach and many parents of the team he coached weren’t happy. Why he got the boot

Thought this could be a fun topic during a quiet time for the NRL.

Who is your favourite player to play for the warriors in your time watching.

For me I can’t split two players
    SJ and Iafeta Paleaaesins.

If I had to pick just one it’s Iafeta. I’m confident in saying I would try and tackle anyone who has ever played in the NRL. I played premier grade rugby in Christchurch. But I’m not afraid to admit that I’m stepping out of the way of Paleaaesina coming off the back fence. Nothing as a fan got me more excited than seeing him run like he did. He was truly scary and I would shit my pants if he was running at me.

    Who is it for you?

As a Maori, yesterday was embarrassing for me.

TPM polled at under 3%, Māori in nz population, 15%. They don’t represent all Maori, and whilst I respect their right to protest & in fact welcome it (a country with no ability to protest is a dictatorship), yesterdays antics at parliament overstepped the mark.

There are rules & standards within those 4 walls and these were not upheld. haka, whilst I adore the purpose and tradition, is used to intimidate and scare any opposition, usually incapable of a response. Parliament is not the right place for such & I believe they’re playing firmly into the hands of the act party.

I’m not going to attack or shoot down anyone in support of TPM, as a democracy you’re within your rights to vote and support who you please. But with TPM unwilling to even listen & have a debate actually resembles closer to a dictatorship where you cannot voice your concerns under the guise of supposed morality & racism.

Luxon has no backbone & is fence sitting on the issue, which is doing him no favours in the polls. Disclaimer, I’m not sure if I support acts bill but as a society we should respect their opinion and voice, as we should TPM.

Intimidation & acting how TPM did yesterday does not sit well with me, simply because they don’t believe something should be debated, does not mean you’re entitled to act in such a way. Again, TPM do not represent all Māori, and need to stop acting like they do. There’s also an underlying feeling that I’m a traitor & turning my back on Maori by not agreeing with them, which is a shit feeling of guilt tripping, but I don’t. I believe that everyone in NZ deserves a fair go, and that privilege based on skin colour is an extremely slippery slope that has never, ever ended well for nations.

Step-daughter was at Mt Smart yesterday for a sports day - little sneak got off participation by saying she's was sick, but stood there with a rake at a long jump pit - she saw the warriors training and shouted 'up the wahs' to them, they laughed apparently - good girl

I always thought Pomps could be a Mr Fixit and play backrow, Centre/wing/6 at a pinch off of the bench.
Halasima is another one. Not 6, But a little training at 9 and he could be so valuable off the bench as he covers the backs & forwards as well.
TBH I would like to see Halasima become a starting backrower. I thought he was the most impressive of all the new players that played FG this year. Nanai was the same age as Halasima is now when he became a regular starter in FG. Hoping Leka can do the same as it will give us some much needed X factor.

It would be interesting to know if any more time is being spent upskilling Pompey in the Second Row. Obviously way better options but a guy that could be a viable option off the bench as a Wing, Centre & Edge and who's comfortable on either side is an asset not many others provide
