General Your "fantasy" Warriors signing

Hypothetically .... you are the Warriors CEO, you have an open chequebook and no anti-tampering deadlines or salary cap to worry about. And just to make it easier, every single player in the NRL and the ESL is a free agent.

Who would be the first new player you would want to sign?

Would you look for experience and try to tempt Stacey back, or look to uproot Johns from Newcastle? Get Lockyer from Brisbane, or Minichiello from the Roosters?

Or would you look for a younger star ... Benji, Sonny Bill, Tim Smith? Or some more forward grunt ... Webcke, Morley, O'Donnell?

You only get to pick ONE player ... so choose wisely. Obviously, we'd need to make sure we had a position available for our new signing. Who would your choice be??

Oo I was drooling at the mouth til I read on and saw we're only allowed "ONE player". This is not one you can just pluck out of thin air..will have to get back to you on that one LeagueNut.

Thats easy. Me. I wouldn't dare putting me on the feild the results would be horrific.

Serioulsy id go with Anthony Tupou young exciting can step and is fast for his position. doesn't have the injurys of SBW or the rugby ambitons of Benji.

That's way too easy I'd bring Stace back!!!!!But if he didn't want to come back then I think that i would get Benjii simply coz he has the talent in the halves that we need, he's young and he has alot of years in footy ahead of him.Plus he's a Kiwi

I think halfback is a crucial position in rugby league.

Looking around, Johns is number one but getting on and injury prone, Firman is a bit inconsistent yet, Finch didn't have a good year without Fittler to direct things, Gower is a great player but without that killer instinct, Kimmorley relies too heavily on the flat style of attack, Seymour isn't really established although a good player, the young Raiders guy is still trying to establish himself, Orford is a complete player for mine, Timmy Smith is an audacious talent - but the man I'd bring into the club would be Scott Prince.

Ronnie has purchased Benji so my first choice is Scotty Prince.

Benji and Scotty are like Thelma and Louise, they just go!

Id go with someone in the back row with off loading skills. So id take Hindmarsh

We're lacking centres so I'd go for Steven Bell - a thoroughly dependable player who knows his way to the tryline and sets up his winger well.

I would have picked Gasnier for that job! He's the best there is around the league.

Gasnier would probably fill one of our centre spots quite nicely. When he's switched on, he can be freakish.

Very true but I'd prefer a consistently good player like Bell to an erraticly hot and cold player like Gasnier.

I think NZ can churn out its own forwards, especially second rowers. I'd like a half or a centre. Prolly take Orford or Lockyer.

Certainly not easy when you only get to pick one.

I like the idea of getting a genuine gamebreaker that can turn a game with a piece of individual brilliance.

The three I would choose from is SonnyBill Williams, Benji Marshall and Andrew Johns (note that I haven't considered Stacey as I think he is really keen for the opportunity in France and it would therefore be a bit mean to make him come back). The problem with all of the above 3 is their susceptibility to injury.

I think in the end I would choose Benji Marshall as Andrew Johns is too close to retirement and much as I love SonnyBill and the impact of his tackles I think that his tackling style makes the likelihood of a shoulder injury quite high.

If the club has an open cheque book I would like to be considered for a full-time league watching role so that I could afford to go to every single Warriors game (and any other league games my schedule allowed).

 Barrett's a poof! I'd rather have Marshall.
You reckon? I'd probably pick Marshall over Barrett as well, but I wouldn't rate Barrett as a poof. He's easily one of the better 5/8ths running around at the moment.

Scott Prince

Good young halfback. Should have played for Oz in the Tri Nations.
