The Dark Side of the Ring - The Assasination of Dino Bravo is up on YouTube.

A pretty good episode. A bit of a shock hearing his family talking about him and the affect his death had on them. When you see the stories you tend to forget the people leave family behind.

Interesting also as growing up watching WWF Dino Bravo was just a mid carding heel, I never knew he was a huge star in Canada who could of been bigger than Hogan.

My dad said I met Rick Martel as a kid at Claudlands in Hamilton.
He also doubled as a bouncer back yonder?
We went to see Andre the giant.
King Kamaka and Samoa Joe were all I can remember.

Theres a Samoa Joe now,he is slick and better as a baddy.

My young teen days I was a Brutus the Barber Beefcake fan.
Liked his build and nutty ness.

Tag team was Strikeforce because I met Rick Martel.
Dont even remember meeting him even ow.

When I started looking at wrestling sites I read Bravo was a bit of a star before joining the WWF. The being as big as Hogan I'd take a bit with a bit of skepticism that it includes some wrestler exageration.

I know documentaries have to skip over parts to get to the points they need to get across. Dino Bravo did spend some time as a baby face in the WWF. Not sure it was at the end of his run or if he returned.

When he was a face he was back to the dark hair.

He is a video from a Superstars show. There is also footage online of a face turn.

Crack up brother. No shit when i was in primary school in Rotovegas we lived next door to a guy called Lofty Houghton who was a former kiwi wrestler and referee. Anyway 2 wrestlers who i had no idea who they we're (just that they we're the biggest human beings i had ever seen) turned up at our school because they we're supposed to stay with Lofty, didnt know his address but knew that his son (who happened to be away that day) went to our school. So anyway i ended up having to escort them back to our neighbours which was just down the road....it was Rick Martel and King Kamaka.

I dont even remember how young i was but it must've looked absurd this toddler with a couple of fucken giants walking 'the hood" in Rotorua.

Another Dark Side of the Ring episode overnight. I forgot they were doing D David Shultz. He was on the outs just as they were launching Wrestlemania. I have only see clips of him on YouTube. He's like a late 70s early 80s Stone Cold Steve Austin.

The episode was better than I expected. Going over him slapping a reporter. Typical Americans you get slapped a couple of times and sue cause your ears were ringing and it affected your hearing. Well affects your hearing until you get paid $200k.

I was listening to Jim Cornette interview the producers of the show. He told them Shultz was the worst wrestler to put in front of a reporter to protect the business as he was trained by a guy who was one of the last remaining guys with roots back to before they started fixing the results. He used to beat the crap out of guys and when they wouldn't leave he'd then smarten them up about the workings of the wrestling business.

This is a rough copy of the clip but this segment with David Shultz used to make me laugh when I first saw it.

Next week's Dark Side of the Ring is titled "Cocaine & Cowboy Boots: The Herb Abrams Story"

He used to run the UWF and was meant to be pretty out there even for pro wrestling.

If you read his death section in wikipedia.

Abrams died in July 1996 at St. Vincent's Hospital in Manhattan, New York of a heart attack -- while in police custody. Before his death, police had found Abrams in his Manhattan office naked and covered in baby oil, destroying furniture with a baseball bat. Abrams' autopsy showed he had cocaine and valium in his system when he died.

Abrams' ex-girlfriend said that during the last few years of his life, he had experienced paranoia when high on cocaine. Allegedly, Abrams owed various people money, and insisted on destroying furniture to find non-existent "bugging devices" he believed were secretly recording him.

WWE wrestling star Shad Gaspard confirmed dead

The body of former World Wrestling Entertainment pro Shad Gaspard was found yesterday on Los Angeles' Venice Beach, after he was caught in a rip current last weekend, police said.

Patrol officers were flagged down around 1:25 a.m. by a person reporting that a body had washed ashore, a Police Department statement said.

He was identified as Gaspard and his family was notified, police said. Gaspard went missing last Sunday after he went swimming with his 10-year-old son, Aryeh.

The boy was rescued and several other swimmers made it out of the water safely.

Gaspard, 39, gained prominence in the WWE as one half of the tag-team group Cryme Time, along with his partner, JTG. After retiring in 2010, Gaspard has had small roles on TV and in movies, including the 2015 Kevin Hart comedy "Get Hard."

He was about 50 yards (46 meters) from shore when he was last spotted by a lifeguard, police said. A wave crashed over him and he was swept out to sea.

His wife, Siliana Gaspard, issued a statement Tuesday thanking authorities and fans.

"We would like to express our gratitude to the first responders who rescued Aryeh and to the lifeguards, coast guard, divers, fire and police departments for their continued efforts to help find our beloved Shad," the statement said.

Four years ago, Gaspard made headlines after disarming a gun-wielding robber at a Florida service station.

I watched the Dark Side of the Ring episode - The Last Days of Owen Hart.

If it is usual wrestling personalities I am kind of sick of hearing about Owen Hart falling and the show continuing. More cause he ends up more remembered for his death not his life.

I was feeling the same leading up to this episode but read a bit of an interview with his wife around the episode. The only things I have heard about Martha Hart were all second hand or people commenting on a book she wrote and it being innacurate.

She came off quite well in the episode.

The series starts with a two parter on Benoit which was quite hard to watch. This one like the Dino Bravo episode they show the family left behind which is tough.

Was a hard watch with them explaining the night they found out and what she discovered when investigating the accident.
