I look forward to the inevitable blow up between shit for brains George and dust for brains Gould.

I applaud the club for making some serious moves, but time will tell whether we get anything out of it. Brown possibly just got very lucky with a few signings in Newy and Gould's track record is spotty at best. It may work out amazingly, but this club has burnt me way too many times.

I'm just going to focus on enjoying back to back wins for the first time in what feels like forever + the knowledge we can actually attack again now that Kearney and Green are no longer handbraking it.

i still cringe hard every time we are called "vodafone warriors"

gut feeling is we are not going to get the best out of gould if he is just a consultant would of preferred a more concrete fulltime role. so do we still get a director football or coaching or what ever

Well, just imagine that everytime we're called "Vodafone Warriors", that's a little bit more money going chang-a-ching! into the Warriors' bank account from Vodafone.

It could be worse. Our major sponsor could be Huggies.

Kind of agree on Gould. How often would be he "consultable"? Does he tell us to call back because he's being consulted by the Panthers at present? What areas are no-go with a consultant that wouldn't be with a director of football?

How long before someone starts a “Sack Brown“ thread?

Well, I opened a "Sack Mooks Now" thread the day SK was appointed and the mods weren't best pleased so I wouldn't do it today.

Day 1 of Pre-season For 2021 is probably a good point.

The other question is how long before we start looking at the SK reign with those rose-tinted specs? "Oh, but he was undermined by Iro!", "What do you expect when you have to deal with an idiot like CG!", "Just because he sounded incoherent at press conferences, that didn't mean he was a bad coach!", etc, etc.

Definitely shouldn't do it bro, we need to be positive guys, hopefully gus can clean this place up and ill give them a chance, leave that for the mods to decide weather we need to do that.

Can we start a #bringbackthemop movement?

I used to enjoy watching the blonde-haired Brown run around for the Dragons as an exciting rookie. It was good times for the club with him, Tallis and Mundine coming through.

Not what I ordered
But I’m not taking it back
See how it tastes first
Could be better than what I ordered
Serve of brownie with Gravey Gus on the side
Swing some decent recruitments
And let’s FEAST!!!

Start with Mad Jack

If Kearney was coaching last night

1. There would have been no offloads
2. Blair would have played 80min for 2 hitups
3. There would have been no offloads
4. Hetherington would be on the bench
5. Burr would be starting
6. Iro would be giving the 1/2 time speech
7. Beale would be on the Wing
8. All our loan players would have been kiwis
9. There would have been no offloads
10. I would not have understood a word he said at the presser
11. We would have lost by 4
Give it a rest already

Nice card .I stuck all mine to wall in my garage .an moved a couple of years later .I'm a bit bummed now looking at that .
I remember Jason Taylor an des both had long hair .
But brownie definitely takes the cake .

Feel sick to my stomach with the announcement of Brown.
None of his past achievements or lack of. Impress me.
Why do we do this????.

Would of been happy with Payten, Wane , Wolfe even Tooves.

Gus will probably do all the coaching anyway lol.

Fuck.

With the news of Nathan Brown getting the Head Coach role now official we can now move on to discuss this appointment in his own thread.

We will leave this open to discuss the other candidates but if it becomes a Nathan Brown V2.0 thread it will be locked for any further discussion to save mods wasting time cleaning up.

ANY NATHAN BROWN DISCUSSION IN THIS THREAD IS NOW OFF TOPIC!!!

You forgot to mention some Eels players had guaranteed first grade positions in their contracts. It was a crap club. So SK didn't fare well, it doesn't mean he is a good first grade coach though. He showed here that he isn't.
Yeah, I think I said before somewhere I think he's probably an excellent assistant coach and could be a solid first grade coach if the stars aligned. I don't think he showed here that he isn't. I think everyone went to the negative default position pulling all his supposed baggage to prove their case. I think his time at the Warriors showed he's still learning and the Warriors aren't prepared to wait for that & fair enough I suppose.

Regardless, his change/ foundational skills are under-appreciated imo but hei aha. No amount of point ing them out is going to change people's minds or see it for themselves.
I also think like Fonzie stated somewhere that this weekend's game was played off of those defensive, structural & resilience (going the whole 80) lessons are kearney's. He focussed on that from Day 1.
After a second viewing this morning the major difference to me was the attack. Lots of reaons (Green leaving etc). Still some holes but hope that keeps improving. Looking forward to Fonzie's take on all that.

I understand from media comments from Payten recently that Jones has been doing a lot of work on attack with the halves etc in recent weeks - my question is where has that been before now? Job insecurity helps people focus on their kpi's maybe?
It is what it is, I think I'm at the resignation part of the process now, not quite at the acceptance stage lol

ok cool, finally we have a coach and can move on.
I'm not going to say we cant get any worse than what we've seen over the last several years because this club brings me to new lows almost every year lol but like any tragic its all aboard the merry go round again.
As much of a circus this whole event has been I applaud the owners in offloading people...it had to be done, we needed to make those hard decisions. Not drag them out over years.
Now finally lets buy some players all ready, preferable big, tough, fit, hardened ozzies

His foundation will cease to exist when the new coaching regime takes over and guts this roster to the core.
