Which player would get the most benefit from a stint in the Vulcans.

Konrad did it and came back to be one of our stand out players.... Who's next on the list?

laumape, ropati (unless he retires), lousi, henry and gubb are my guesses. all the young guys and the veteren

I can see Benry being made Vulcs captain and spending most of the year there.

Gubb and the Lousi's are also prime candidates to have to wait for their spot via the Vulcs.

Would like manu to spend some time there, particularly if he is learning how to play as a strike back rower. Would also be good if he was there after a poor game in 1st grade just to reinforce the no one is safe mentality.
Others for various reasons would be Locke(form), Ropati (prefer him not in first garde unless desperately needed), Mateo (form), Henry and Lowrie (dont think we can afford them both in the team)

pretty much anyone whos underperforming, the problem however is if they spend too much time there they might get the wrong idea and look for another club, like tupou, inu, packer, hopefully they don't just get up and leave after getting put into nsw cup for one game

tHEY WEREN'T LOOKING...TUPOU WAS PUSHED ALONG...pACKER PROBABLY THE SAME

I don't know why but I really want Manu to get dropped to the Vulcans next time he has a bad game... It seems like hes no. 1 at the club and is untouchable. That's got to change. He's just another player just like any other.... And if he's out on the field throwing hospital passes to kevin locke and then knocking the ball out of kevin lockes hands he needs to take a break from first grade....

And playing two big games all season, against the origin weakened broncos and the self destructing raiders, isn't good enough for a man of his ability (and pay packet)....

I went

Lowrie - more for the top team than for his benefit. Allow someone with a little attack and without the penalties
Ropati - I never want to see him in first grade again
Neilson - He is blocking the way for better centres (IMO) and blocking Manu from getting any good ball
Rapira - To allow our props to gain a bit of size. I would like to see us run with Matulino, Lillyman, Matagi and Gubb, with Sam Lousi in the 2nd row but also as prop back up. I don't dislike Rapira, simply feel the game has gotten bigger and he is now too small to remain a world class prop.

I disagree, I think the warriors would have wanted to keep tupou for depth or to improve, and he decided to look elsewhere, same with packer.
I know I've got no proof or quotes but its just my opinion, why push good players off to other clubs when you can put them in nsw cup and have them come back better players?

Truth is probably in the middle somewhere.

Tupou would have wanted to go after seeing Fisiiahi become the number 2 wing choice behind Manu then he was looked over for wing spot for the Raiders game in favour of Laumape.

I believe you are right to a point about the Warriors wanting him as depth but also believe they were only to happy to release him. He would have been on all right coin after re-signing (last year?). They would have got Laumape for a lot less and Elliott see's great potential in him...

good point, regardless of why he left I think he will develop really well at canberra, I think there were rumours that the eels also wanted him when he left which means ricky stuart saw something in him also, guess it all worked out in the end seeing as stuart left to the raiders

In all fairness the Eels will take anyone they can get lol.

TBH I think Tupou has gone to Canberra only to be depth again. He may not have realised it at the time but I dont see him getting a place over Sami Sauiluma. The kids a future star. Funny thing is, if Tupou had of stayed here he would have most probably got a run when Fish went down in Round 19 against the Tigers...

I guess we'll have to agree to disagree, haha but i honestly think he'll have a good go at FG, hes got some size, speed (shown when he caught johnson) give him a coach who can teach him how to be a pro and he might do well

i sat with a friend for a storm game and he pointed out tupou was not catching any high balls. locke would run all the way to the wing and catch them for him. tupou doesnt jump so thats a major reason he wont be a first grade wing but he might make a centre

How to catch? jokes a good stable winger....will have to go to a weak backline to get a regular spot.
Look at sosaia feki - he was average and a battler .. he carved himself a reall opportunity to be a permanent FG''er

I went for people I would like to spend some Vulcans time as opposed to who I think Will.

Johnson : Long kicking practice just for a couple of weeks , no more than a Month ideally, for mine that should see him stay out of the Vulcans for the rest of he's career as long as he keeps trying those kicks in FG. I would also have him come back wearing the 6 Jersey purely to do with the culture of the club because he is a stand off wearing a halfbacks jumper on a halfback fantasy as opposed to sensible numbering for the teams sake

Manu: As long as it takes to get him in condition for another position

Locke : Wing refresher course , play himself V laumape for that Left Wing......or train him at center and again give him all the time he needs to crack it , possibly Laumape on the left wing in that case.

locke at centre? thats the only thing i cant agree with. hes too small, players like hodges and leilua will destroy him physically over time. jennings would be the smallest centre around and hes not that small. i remember we tried that with hohaia.

I think it's quite telling that only five players haven't been voted to drop down. That's a squad where the bulk of the players need to get their shit together.
