I would be interested to know what peoples opinions are on the difference between the warriors and clubs that win?

Well, how long is a piece of string. You could start by saying they are winning and we are not.
You could say it all starts if the front office.....and 4 a while i thought they were right.
Attitude and application.....it is what the players are willing to settle for. They lose and we still think of them as stars......what are we willing to settle for?
We could ask steve price what the difference is?
I think you just have to build.....like the bullldogs or whoever....just keep getting better......something we don't let our coaches do...
IMO you have one talented player you keep him whatever cost...as long as he remains focused.....but you add to him with another and then another. They won't all be stars across the paddock, but they will be better as a unit year after year.
I think IC is on the right track....not all players are great greats...if you know what i mean....but they are solid and reliable.

* A creative playmaker
* A strong organiser
* A ball playing backrower
* Speed on the flanks

On the positives, our go forward is quite good, and our defence is capable, although I feel that is somewhat misleading last night given Canberra went no wider than first receiver on 95% of their plays. Given their lack of creativity, they should have been kept to 6.

a top flight halfback , remember when we bought fein , he was playing reserve grade and the cowboys {get the picture}.........hohaia need s to be given a chance at halfback , with sione at 5/8 and fein at hooker.......

and we seriously lack wheel s in the backline , which was shown up in the melbourne game especially .....

last nite really pissed me off......hopefully mr cleary will , have the stones to make changes next week , and bring in some more of the junior kiwis , rapira , fai , if hes fit etc , and make positional changes ...
as someone else said last nite ,we were 8 up with 15 to go , and our halfback never kicked the ball on the last , and dropped the ball twice ...

time for changes ivan .......................

The mental toughness that sees them win more close games than they lose.

Bad teams lose close games. Any bunch of idiots can win by 30 on their day.

its just like they dont care if they win or lose, when i watch a game i think that theyre just playing for their paycheck and it doesnt bother them if they win or lose. plus i reckon ivan cleary needs to fire them up give them some inspiration. ricky stuart for example could have a whole team of debutants and before the gamy he could syke them up and get them out on the field and they would all put in a superb performance.

by the way i lost 150 F*CKIN dollars on this game, seriously thought the warriors could have put that game in the bag

I've said it before i'll say it again. Let them have there huge pay checks (huge when you consider what they are returning for it) BUT divide it into 26. Everytime they win they get all of that weeks pay check, if they lose they get zip. You'd soon see some desperate and winning football!

You wouldn't see any stars though. They'd go somewhere with certain money.

An evasive fullback
Strong defensive wingers
Hard running centres who can set up their wingers
Halves who take the ball to the line and create opportunities
A tough tackling loose forward with pace
Second rowers with athletic skills
Props who can slip a pass
A hooker who tackles his heart out and knows when to scoot from dummy half.

A bench where each player complements the player he replaces and has impact.

Honestly, are we anywhere near that perfection?

Kav

Can you explain that Kav?

Personally I am proud that we have Webb at fullback. The guy is the most skilled player in New Zealand currently.

PMSL.

Just on the clubs alone I'd say it's alot of things but probably more so is the finishing on attack and finishing games at all. If we hadn't butchered a few oppertunites that night then we'd have had that game.
Also, in the games that were won, wasn't the most convincing either which also points to some lack lustre ideas and game plan executions.
