JB, saw King Kong today. Unbalanced with a good story and too much over the top special effects. Worth the $5 bucks. But if you've got millions to waste, Jackson did a good job. Irony in the story of the movie itself? Remakes are always ingenious. Anyway like I said, worth $5 bucks.

I suppose my favourite movie of all time would have to be the original Star Wars. Mostly because I got my parents to take me to see it 3 or 4 times when it was out. I still enjoy watching it today... but the 'prequels' were somewhat crap in comparison... maybe it's just because I'm older and more cynical.

One of my favourite books is 'A Prayer for Owen Meany' by John Irving an American author. Very quirky and quite a bizzare story.

Too many movies to choose from, but after taking a look at the dvd collection here's what I came up with.

Action/Adventure - Blade trilogy, Indiana Jones trilogy, Bad Boys (Just the first one), and the Terminator trilogy (more 1&2 than 3).

Comedy - Rush Hour 1&2, Ace Ventura 1&2, Big Momma's House, Friday (The first one).

Horror/Thriller - The Thing, Aliens Quadrilogy, The first Predator, The Ring, The Grudge.

Children Classics - Lion King, Watership Down, Transformers (movie sux, but it's high on nostalgia), The 2 Ewok movies (cheap attempt to cash in on Star Wars mania, but I loved them as a kid nonetheless).

Drama - Boyz In The Hood, Remember The Titans, Higher Learning, Blood In Blood Out (A must see), Menace II Society.

There's too many to name, but those ones stand out for me in some way or another. And after looking through my dvd collection again I seem to be saying " how could I leave that out" to every second movie. lol. But that'll do.

I forgot about Blood In Blood Out. Best gang movie ever

Liked the Shannara series so much I named my daughter Shannara. Even though in the book the main character is a male it just seemed like a girls name to me.

Enjoyed Frank Endacotts book, Gordon Tallis' and just finished Christian Cullens book. Put in an order with the family for Staceys book for Xmas

As for movies anything with Adam Sandler is always good for a laugh.

Realy liked Final Destination 1 & 2. But prefer 2

Also 2 previously mentioned movies Friday Night Lights an Blood In Blood Out

I managed to find this thread again.

I usualy chew over a book for two or three weeks, however the last book I picked took me tow days to read it was that intense.
It was called beautifull child by Torey Hayden. It was one of the most amazing books I have read.
Torey Hayden is a teacher for learning impaired children, (this is all real) and one of the children in her class is an elective mute by the name of Venus, a 7 year old black girl from an abusive family. This book has evoked powerfull emotions in me, it has some great moments and some dark ones too.
This book shows the best and worst in mankind.

I have never said anything is a must read, but I have never felt as strogly about a book.
Its only 295 pages not at all imposing.
