General What Position Are We Going To Be Short In Next Season?

Just thinking that this year we don't seem to be firing and after losing players at the end of the season, what position do you think we are going to be short in?

Maybe 5/8??? and we will miss a reliable goal kicker...is anyone else as good as Maloney?

Shaun Johnson wasn't bad in u20s. Leuliaui can kick too. Locke has potential I heard

Not many. Dane was a great signing, and will help stiffen our defense up. Our rookies won't be rookies, so our depth should be even stronger. Hurrell's already surpassed my expectations. Hurrell could be our best centre ever, he was a monster again against the Tigers. With only a handfull of games, what he can become is anything.

Also depends who we re-sign. How much depth do we want? Need? Inu seems to be on the outer, Omar too. On the plus Carlos, Godinet, and TL will be fighting it out for 5/8. All three have strong points. Hopefully they'll defend better than Maloney has.

Would love to sign another winger, if Omar/Inu does eventually leave. Although maybe the club has their eye on one of our 20's. Every other posistion is basically filled. And filled well.

Shaun, will also have another year of development, think how good he'll be by then. Love to sign Shaun up for just a couple more years over the 2014/15 date. Clubs should never even be bothered about asking about his availability status.

Yes, this is why I am hoping Dylan Collier gets a run there sometime this year. Though others on the forums say he is not up to scratch. If he isn't then we will be short on wingers next season once Inu is gone.

Goal kicker is one area that we'll miss Maloney as well as drop kicks etc. As mentioned before Shaun Johnson would probably be best bet if Inu not in the mix. Locke is too inconsistent as a goal kicker.

Before we signed Nielsen, centre was definitely my priority for a signing. We've been weak there ever since Turtle left and J-Ro copped his first season ender. I suppose the backrow is no longer a position of great depth now that Luck and Lewis will be leaving. I wouldn't enter the transfer market for another backrower, as we should never fail to produce backrowers through our juniors.

I suppose 5/8 is the next position that has the biggest question mark over it. I really do not know what to expect from TL, or where Bluey sees him playing. I suspect it'll stay that way until the pre-season trials next year. Either way I'd like to see what Carlos has to offer. Not convinced Godinet has a long-term position in first grade....

I am a fan of speed and a really classy, speedy winger would be my preference, a quality and athletic, co-ordinated finisher ... like a Matt Duffie or a Nightingale... in that mold.
If I'm brutally honest, i'm pretty tired of the block bash 'extra forward' style wing play and love watching nightingale especially.
Tupou and Manu are too similar for mine, both are lefties as well. Need something different... a rapier to go with the mace, if you will.

Taylor is seen by a lot of fans as a player who could lead a group as well.

Ben Henry will be 13 next year and for the next 10 years he is way way better than most give him credit for because of their Inu man crushes, Ikahihifo and Palavi will be in the mix and there is a lot to like about Likiliki.

If henry is in the forwards next year then I for one want him on the roids, he is not strong enough for mine.

See I differ here - I actually think Henry is a very strong tackler, with a similar "wrap" style to Mannering. Look at the players he's shut down over the past few games for proof of how defensively tough he is.
Having said that, Henry is young and could easily slap on a few kgs during the off season - which would be helpful for the second row transition.
If anything, I view Taylor as more of a centre type than Henry.

Can someone tell me Why Bluey has been persisting with Ben Henry at Centre all year. I used to be on the onetribe forum before it got moved to facebook, and i just dont do facebook lol, anyway back to the subject. Henry was an under 20's second rower and now an nrl centre ?. Dont get me wrong , he tackles well most of the time but has no attacking ability. I thought we got away from having 2nd rowers as centres last year with stop gaps mannering and brown.Next year im hoping hurrell and nielsen are the starting centres.
