Hi guys and gals,
There will be some activity in the coming months during the offseason as we try to improve the website for Season 2013. There will be some significant changes, more of which will be revealed later.

There may be times during the night when you will see a blank white screen, so if you get that, nothing is broken, just refresh 30 seconds later.

If you see any bugs or issues please PM me.

If there are any features or things you would like to see, please add it in this thread. If there is something currently on here that annoys you (besides our moderating ;)), let us know. Feedback is always very welcome.

^^^ If we could have practical/serious suggestions that'd also be appreciated :)

Mainly because some things actually cost $$ to implement, which we're prepared to do - but it'd be good to have a broad suggestion base, as things we may like, you may not like.

To kick us off, something we've discussed at times over the past year is implementing a 'dislike' or 'disagree' tab to counter the current 'like'. Is that something people would be interested in, or is it just unnecessary clutter?

Aren't differing opinions the very thing that drives forums like this?........agreeing with someone probably doesn't need a separate post in itself, but disagreeing with someone should at least warrant a written argument of some sort, rather than clicking a tab.

Xfactor

There are often posts that I dislike or disagree with TD, but I just accept that as part of the foruming experience, and read on.
To each their own as they say!
Anything trollish or just plain ludicrous I would either ignore, or dispute via a retaliatory post.
I feel a 'dislike' given to some posters would only incite retaliation anyway, so we should either ignore it, or actually post what we disliked.
A 'like' is more obvious as it's a simple way of saying nice post/humour/insight etc.
Just my thoughts tho....I reckon this is already an excellent site. Great job!

Personally i agree with both of your comments Xfactor and facefacts. I think as we have seen on previous forums that 'dislike' buttons can cause animosity between users and can cause users to dislike users posts (regardless of content) purely because they received a dislike from them earlier.

This is true. It wasn't to replace responding to someone if you disagree, it was more just as a simple option that's the opposite of the current 'like'. There's a school of thought that says offering more tabs such as like, dislike etc can provide an alternate avenue for 'interaction' from lurkers, or people who may not post a lot. That's a theory, which I suppose probably works on some message boards. I'm not fussed either way, just thought I'd throw it out there to see what everyone thinks. But what you and Xfactor have said makes sense.

As for pure trollers and idiots, you guys already do a good job of dealing with them appropriately.

Could you implement a timestamp in the shoutbox?
Yes that is part of the planned revamp. The shoutbox/chat component will be greatly enhanced and will become a more focal point of what is happening around in the forums.

Would be great if the site was responsive (meaning it works with mobile and tablet devices) tajhay , you know what I'm talking about. ;)

Then members wouldn't be required to buy and download tapatalk, to view on their mobile/tablet.

A new logo/header image would be something that could be worked on in the long term.

Dont you just hit cancel when it prompts you for tapatalk and you can then view and use the site normally? Thats what I do on my iphone

Well yes, you can do that, but it isn't mobile friendly as such.

But, there is an add on which allows you to make your forum responsive. Send me a PM and I'll show you it in action.

They dont need to, i view/post on the site using the web browser 90% of the time when im mobile myself so i dont consider it non responsive. That and the fact that i dont like how mobile versions of the site look as it tries to minimise information.

edit - plus i cant be bothered creating template changes to it anyway. we will go down that path in the future...but probably very low priority as it only affects very few users. Oh and theres javascript issues with responsive layouts and will more than likely conflict with some custom template edits we have.

Wouldn't mind a game highlights archive of some sort, something to keep the juices flowing during the off season (or even a mid season losing streak)
