ha ha I was scrolling down this post and thought I wonder if DMM has seen it, and you didn't disappoint mate


We're in Tainui territory tomorrow night and you may well remember the trial match there against the Dragons 2 or 3 years ago DMM. There were a lot of rah-rah supporters there getting a taste of the Warriors for probably the first time ever. I remeber commenting to you on how quiet the crowd was, even tho it was packed.

Last year, same place but this time a proper NRL match against the Eels.
Pissing down all day, but the fans came out in force for the Eels ' home ' game.
Once again almost a packed house but the atmosphere was completely different. The rah-rah supporters were there still, but had learned to have a voice for the Warriors.

Whether it was because it was a night game, or whether the fog rolling in added to the eeriness of the night I'm not sure, but the atmosphere created at Waikato Stadium, in the heart of rugby territory, was something close to our home charge in the finals of 2002 at Ericsson.

And I'm anticipating the exact same tomorrow night.

Yes I remember that night as tho it was yesterday. How we were talking to each other on our cellphones, and then our eyes met. Those clear blue eyes fixed onto mine, your blonde hair 'swishing' in the mild breeze, and as you smiled at me, a sigh of relief, as you had my ticket to get through the bloody gate.
