Overall I am happy with seeing a non prop wing line up after decades of it.

We adjusted last season after Fusitua and Ken left.

Katoa got a fair go.

Murchie has a case.

Katoa got games in a row and was flat in all of them. I do not think this is unexpected given he is young and very Green.

But most of us have played league, or some sport, and even if you get moved around by the coach, we all know what effort looks like, and effort is internally driven.

Curran and Siro have been demonstrating effort with their defence which has been the best the Warriors have seen from some time.

Katoa needs to tackle his arse off and run hard, everything else is not really important, if you do those things as a forward you will look good no matter where you play or who you play against or along side etc...

Like in any walk of life the key part of self improvement is to recognise, accept, learn and strengthen performance from mistakes.

Mistakes are a fact of life in sport as in life. Without mistakes sporting contests are boring. The purpose of applying pressure is to force mistakes. The Warriors issue is they repeat mistakes, in the same games and throughout seasons.

To really improve to the extent of their potential they need to become students of the game. They need to seek knowledge and adapt. Walsh and SO'S apparently watch every game. I do not say they should all watch the same but more attention needs to be paid to learning the game rather than watching and listening to Hip Hop.

Look at the difference in performance of the Storm, Roosters, Crusaders and compare them to the Warriors and Blues over the years. The difference is attention to detail, pride in performance and the character to perform in and for a team environment.

Tonight is 100% must win despite it only being round 11.
When you've already stuffed three games you should have iced (Manly x2 and the Knights) by round 10 you have to be beating the Tigers if you're going to make finals.
Given where this team would be on the ladder if they had of won just two of those games things don't look so bad considering the injuries but with Taumalolo almost certainly out next week and same goes for the much lesser loss of Burr, I can't see the Warriors being a finals chance without back to back wins in the next 8 days

Cowboys star Jason Taumalolo and fellow forward Lachlan Burr are facing two-match bans after being charged with careless high tackles.

They were each sin-binned in North Queensland's win over Newcastle on Thursday night.

Taumalolo has been charged with a grade-two careless high tackle for a shot on Knights forward Tyson Frizell in the 25th minute while Burr received a grade-one offence for his 30th-minute hit on Jayden Brailey.


They can each halve their suspension to one match if they submit an early guilty plea.

Having Burr suspended and getting replaced by absolutely anybody definitely strengthens the Cowboys...good for us though that Taumalolo will be out..

Also the new crackdown on the head and neck shots definitely works in our favor.We'll get penalised and sinbinned just like we normally do but with the bunker looking at and reviewing them all we might only get penalized for the ones that are legitimate now as opposed to those that we used to get when we would say out loud when watching it " oh bullshit....what the fuck was that for"
and there will also be a case now when the opposition would get away with obvious ones that they'll now be pulled up like they wouldn't have been in the past....this tough crackdown is going to help " level the playing field" for us...I like it.
