That's it. Their strategy works in rain or sunshine, but works best in the rain, where they can sit on a lead and you have to take risks to get ahead of them. And in this weather risky play is not often rewarded.
absolutely. you have summed it up they get to the lead and have the confidence to defend it.

Some positives in there, and the effort across the board was pretty good. But it's two straight weeks of 4 tries, 20+ points conceded, both at home. Kearney's going to need some time, no problem there, but unless he can stop those sorts of numbers we'll see the same results. Too many offloads, line speed no match tonight.

The Storm are the masters of the wrestle...and cheating
The number of times they got away with hands on the ball in the ruck slowing it down was crazy. We just don't get the same leeway from the refs.

Yeah that milked penalty to Vunivalu pissed me right off. Soccer does it too. It should not be a part of sport. It was a freebie he didn't deserve and cost us more than their penalties cost us.

We are not as good as the Storm. For periods we played ok, defended well. Again two softish tries to give them 12 points. We can improve on this. Positives, Hingano looked good, big effort , same for Afoa. Maumalo had a better game, good carries but a lottery under the high ball. Luke went pretty well.
Lolohea was terrible. No confidence and that gift try to allow them in front was the most mi- read, unco-ordinated football yet in the NRL. He is not a winger or fullback, so if he is not in our halves, surely we could trade or sell him. Please don't select him again.

I'm pleased with the improvement. We don't need to expect the whole team to improve in every aspect every game. Remember, we have a LOT of deficiencies in our younger players and every game they learn something new. I think they're playing more as a team. I felt though in the second half when it was time to make the play, Storm had SJ and Luke covered. Roger going down was an added bonus to them, one less threat to monitor. The kickers needed to have more shield and they didn't. Hence we continually lost ground.

The overreactive takes on the game are just that - over the top. We know It's tough but if you've already given up don't rub it in our faces.

Tough game and a lot of familiarity tonight.

Unfortunately the only sign of progress might be that we kept the scoreline respectable.

We looked disjointed on attack because we lost the link man out the back in RTS. SJ was dissapointing and lacked creativity. Again, he had no platform although Ata did ok under pressure.

Second week we've lost key components and the machine stopped churning.

Defensively we had periods of brilliance. Then we had fatal
Lapses. That's what seperate teams like the Storm and teams like us.

Storm controlled the ruck and their linespeed we couldn't contain. They got away with Murder and we were pinged with no leniency.

But again we lack the mental fortitude to overcome that.

Losing RTS then falling behind in the 1st half. That's when the battle was lost.

What will separate Kearneys tenure with the fallen before him will be how he responds to this. There was some poor efforts out there which were unacceptable.

To give SK the benefit of the doubt he hasn't been able to see his game plan come to fruition with a bad run of injuries both games. Really disrupted the use of the bench but that's how the game goes.

End of the day the storm are a hell of a team. We are rebuilding and tonight was part of the process. Can take this loss but expected a strong response against an ailing Bulldogs team next week.

We need to look at our prop rotation. Maybe start with Vete and Lillyman, then Thompson and Lisone.

We need props that can make a move at the line or can get through with some leg drive.

Really liking Afoa he's looking good.
