General Warriors Show Consistency And Patience

The Warriors are finally starting to get some consistency in the NRL, backing up last week's win over the Roosters with a win over the Newcastle Knights at Ericsson Stadium.

After leading 14-6 at the break, the Warriors powered through to record an impressive 30-18 win on the back of a strong defensive performance.

Coach Ivan Cleary believes the fact his side defended so well in the first half really threw the Knights and says the difference of late has been improved goal kicking, and not getting worried when possession does not always turn into a try.

It showed in that they were prepared to play it tough and not buckle.

Nathan Fien started the ball rolling for the Warriors with a first half double, while Sione Faumuina, Jerome Ropati and Steve Price scored tries in the second half.

The Knights scored three tries but the extra week's rest did little good for Andrew Johns and the Knights.

Dropped balls and crucial penalties cost the Knights dearly as the Warriors took full advantage of their opportunities.

The Warriors are 13th on the points table.

Melbourne has increased its lead at the top of the NRL after round 15.

The Storm's convincing 22-12 win over the Raiders at Olympic Park has pushed them four points clear at the top of the table on 24.

The Bulldogs have beaten the Cowboys 20-12 in Surfer's Paradise, to move equal with the Broncos, Sharks and Dragons on 20 points.

The Knights, Sea Eagles and Cowboys round out the top eight.

Lets see 3 good performences in a row before the word "consistant" gets mentioned. Nice compliment for the players though.
