Plus that idiot Buzz Rothfield, who has also picked us for the spoon, just like he did last year and then later in the year he had to eat humble pie on NRL360,
looking forward to him having to do the same this year too.
Buzz Slothchild had a pot shot at Mitchell Pearce and his off field behaviour. Guy has no credibility and is the most despised journo on this side of the Tasman. How he has kept his role as chief editor astounds me.

Only time he reports on his beloved Sharks is after Weidler, Massoud and co. have broken the story he has tried to cover up. Old drunk and a blight on the game, he belongs on the Muppets!

Like over on Oz always hearing someone announce "NRL legend Beau Ryan..." bang average winger at best, both of them.

Haha so true. I read a headline the other day about Charlie Gubb retiring to be a teacher and the headline was something like "NRL Star quit to become a teacher" or something to that effect. Not having a go a Charlie what so ever, but I would hardly call him a "NRL STAR"! All click bait!

Did anyone hear on NRL 360 last night Ben Ikin and Paule Kent mentioned that they had spoken to someone they trusted within the Warriors set up who told them that Roger Tuivasa-Sheck has gone up another level this pre season in terms of his work ethic and his leadership skills ??? That comment alone has boosted my expectations!

Paul Kent, another NRL legend, played Under 23's for the North Sydney Bears, slowest fullback I've seen since Todd "Skinny" Byrne, great Warrior servant BTW.

I like this interview from Jazz and how he responds to the questions around being a backup hooker.
Softly spoken but seems like a switched on young fulla does Jazz. His offloads astound me for such a small forward, he did it the trial against the Tigers with 3 big unit's wrestling him in the tackle. One of them was Alex Twal who is a big human.

He was a star at MSS, end of story. :)

I heard it, didn't need to take Viagra after that.:D

Go and listen to the podcast. They’re quite thorough in how they analyse teams.
Thoroughly flawed. Anyone who doesn't think Tigers, Parramatta, and Titans aren't the obvious candidates is deluded. And if Penrith and Cronulla are not penalized for the shit they been doing the NRL will be the biggest farce.

That aside, we have arguably the best back three. We have Ahmau, Bunty, Harris, Blair, Luke, Hiku, Greene. We're not hard up for experience and skill.

The Aussies all said Shaun Johnson was an underachiever and that even with him we were woodenspooners but then when we lose him we're still useless? We've never been wooden spoon in 25 yrs. Even at our lowest. So I can't think how any analysis can have us last or even close.

We lost stability in the way of an experienced half. But that was the only thing we lost. We gained Ahmau and some size in the forwards.

I think 9th is an accurate assessment from people over the other side of the ditch. That ranking is saying that we won't quite be as good as last year but not that far off.

For those like us who know the club better and been closer to the news and watched them consistently, we know that aside from hb the rest of the team have gone up a level. I think the team will have an inhouse goal of top 6 then if they are doing well by halfway they'll re-assess and aim for top 4.

When they both said they had someone I wondered who it would be? Were they bullshitting?

Benjamin Disraeli used to say there are lies, damned lies and statistics. Which means stats can be incorrectly interpreted.

I taped NRL 360 from last night to hear why they rated the Warriors 9th and it was all around Shaun Johnson. Michael Ennis correctly quoted his try assists, especially inside Fusitua. He then went on to say the Warriors are going to have to find another Shaun Johnson to get those try assists this season or lose out. WRONG.

He fails to mention that Fusitua still scored tries when Shaun Johnson wasn't playing. If he had spotted that he could probably have said that Mason Lino played in his place but he has gone, so we are still stuffed. He didn't for the simple reason those guys never watch this club, and stats can only tell you so much.

if Mason Lino can set Fusitua up, so can Keighran, or Harris Tevita. The reason is because that is a star studded right flank, with Roger Tuivasa-Sheck, the best fullback in the competition sniffing around the back.

Even more to the point with the left side looking like it will fire as well this season there is even more reason to be very confident.

yes at a wedding a few months back....It was news back then, can't exactly remember what happened.
I hadn't heard about it but I recall Ben Ikin saying how many times coaches had had a serious chat with Pearce about his behaviour and responsibilities. It sounds like he is a gifted athlete from a good family but who cannot handle alcohol. His father was a non drinker, you would think he might try and emulate him.

Another thing that has pissed me off is how they all keep saying Ponga would’ve won dally m if he played every game. They just hate to say Roger Tuivasa-Sheck was the best player all year. Most Aussie’s don’t watch the warriors so they just follow what they hear from the pundits who don’t watch the warriors. No one has back Roger Tuivasa-Sheck to win dally m. He is a strong contender. With Shaun Johnson gone the only player they know is Roger Tuivasa-Sheck so he’ll get easy votes. Haha rant over

Pretty sure his dad is now a non drinker. Any chance he was also a menace on the piss.
