I don't know how that would help NRL planning. Was on 9 news tonight they expected doses made available to public from March - I’m assuming NZ would be similar?

Exactly right BruceyUntil they get the countries vaccinated nothing will change.
Problem is one fuck up. It's all over for the rest of the yearDon't see why players and coaches can't be tested throughout the week, fly to NZ, be kept in isolation before playing the Warriors then buggering off back home.
Maybe State and National governments could be persuaded if everyone agrees to strict rules.
because when they return to aus they would then have to go into iso for 2 weeks before they would be allowed to rejoin the comp. There is absolutely no way you could do what you have suggested without coming into contact with someone inside of NZ, and then there are the players who would be at home with their families in NZ. The risk guarantees that you would have to isolate on return to Aus. Or even in reverseDon't see why players and coaches can't be tested throughout the week, fly to NZ, be kept in isolation before playing the Warriors then buggering off back home.

My first reaction to this was to dismiss it out of hand.Don't see why players and coaches can't be tested throughout the week, fly to NZ, be kept in isolation before playing the Warriors then buggering off back home.

Imagine getting NRL guys complying with rulesMy first reaction to this was to dismiss it out of hand.
But here goes....
To make that plan work, they would need to agree to fly in and fly out.
Strict means in, supervised, out again, no interaction with anyone outside the club.
It could be done in theory. Ships crews from all over the world are sitting in our ports.
The Warriors would have to accept they are like those crews, and completely separated from society.
That would be pushing it, but that could work.
They would have to charter flights, I believe that costs a lot of money, serious money. Nathan Brown will have to drive the bus left outside the terminal for them.
Unfortunately after rolling this idea around I woke up and read that a Woman in South Auckland who does not even work at the airport, caught Covid from servicing Airline supplies.
The crew and the plane would have to be chartered exclusively for the season at the cost of tens of millions of dollars.
The Warriors are staying in Aus 2021.
TBF Our guys would probably be able to do the right thing but others would be a worryImagine getting NRL guys complying with rules![]()
Our guys have been well behaved over in Australia obeying any rules they needed to obey to keep the competition going. Last year it was the idiots still living in their own homes that were the problem.TBF Our guys would probably be able to do the right thing but others would be a worry
On the field is hard enough. The players and coaches do what they can to bend the rules on the field.Imagine getting NRL guys complying with rules![]()
just something that you all in NZ may have missed. This year (at least so far) the comp is not being played in a bubble. Home for everyone but the kiwis means home. and the players are out and about like normal. This takes a lot of that hidden pressure of people etc, but means any travel outside of the country would almost automatically put them all back into a bubble, for the extra safety that is needed to keep the comp going. Our guys have been well behaved over in Australia obeying any rules they needed to obey to keep the competition going. All the talk or praise for the Warriors keeping the competition going you can bet if the other 15 teams needed to obide by specific rules to allow the Warriors to play at home you can guarantee someone would screwup due to things being too hard. A lot of them had trouble missing their coffee at their local cafe.

The players misbehave off the field even without a global pandemic. Being in a luck situation they get to carry on playing and get paid we still get issues.
Bad for the Warriors but its easier for the comp without the travel until a larger portion of both countries are vaccinated.
