correct me if im wrong but if you decide to take a game away from your home ground to somewhere it will help grow the game doesnt the nrl giving you a couple of hundred thousand? isnt that why the likes of penrith take so many games away? why canterbury took a game to wellington?

To me this is a very simple no. The Warriors record when taking home games away from their home stadium is atrocious. There's a comp to win, every home game should be a win. Why risk it?
Very unlikely to win any comps if you can’t make the top 4, and can’t make the top 4 unless you win regularly away from Mt Smart.
Got to stop babying the team, they are professional athletes, travel is part of the job.
Can’t change the fact that over half the teams barely leave greater Sydney, more time traveling is less time demanding paper bags of cash and having people record you swapping girls with a dummy half from a rival team.

Get Air NZ to sponsor the event. If that's a sponsorship issue then have a different event sponsored by Air NZ, with the warriors and their opponents invited the day before the game, and play an NRL game while they are there.
Totally disagree. Just because they get paid for what they do does not take away the travel requirements and time zone changes.
The yawnion boys tend to travel in blocks, and every team has travel to do so it balances out.
Basketballers have it similarly as bad, you could argue soccer too, but both of those are not getting their bodies beaten up for 24 weeks on end.
For our boys, every other week we have at least 6 hrs there and back,,( 2 at airport, 3 in air, 1 clearing at other end) then perhaps another bus ride or internal flight. Then include the hotel checking in and out, meal times all screwed up. Add the inevitable time change to this and you've lost a day (rest/recovery/planning/training) either way.That's almost 30% of that week even if everything goes according to plan. No other team faces this signifanct challenge.
Then the great NRL brains decides to send them to Perth...what the?
Even in finals rounds, unless we finish 1 or 2 we have 3 away games, possibly 4 back to back.
When Aussie teams come here it's once a season and they never have a time change, late night issue because they are always playing in their daytime.
Im not surprised that its a deterrent for possible signings.
Some folks may call it an excuse, I prefer to label it a valid reason. One that we are up for, but still valid factors for consideration in my opinion.
The travel factor is never going to change, (unless they charter their own plane like an NBA team so they can set their own schedule, shorten the check in times – where are you uncle Owen?)
And if your Manly why wouldn’t you shoulder tap the warriors to make the long trip, its to their advantage, surprised they haven’t been sent to Darwin yet.
They’ve been dealing with it for 21 years now, it’s just a fact of competing in an Australian competition.
Maybe they should lobby for more back to back away games, but they don’t like doing that either as takes them away from home too long and prefer to return to Auckland in between.
Your right about the finals (don’t like its current set up, the old MacIntyre 8 had more unpredictability built in) if they are going to win a comp they will be on the road for the best part of a month, if they think they can manage that, they can manage a flight to the islands at some point in the season. Have it after a bye week and it’s a non issue.
The way i interpret what your saying is, why make it easier on the team as they should be better than everyone else anyway, or they will never be champions. So, In that case why bother trying at all.
The warriors are an auckland based team and their stadium should be a fortress with as much home advantage as possible. They travel so much they should never give up that advantage. Ever.
Look at the cowboys, they had their infamous loose every year in Sydney / fortress in Townsville, they barely lost at home, but every time they travelled to Sydney for a finals game, they melted down – now some of that was bad luck – but they always had the talent to win – seemed like it was in their heads. Then they seemingly got past that, won a bunch on the road, got top 4, and won the whole thing.
Warriors can do the same, make the raiders or someone travel to the islands, it'd be easier on us than them.
Why would it be easier on us than them?
They have to travel to NZ anyway, and while its a longer trip to the islands, direct its not that much more. The venue would be neutral, so we lose the home advantage, and they are flying to an earlier time zone, so sleep and playing time isnt going to be issue.
then look at the warriors. They now have an extra trip to do. They give up the home fan advantage. They give up the home ground advantage. And they have an absolutely abysmal strike rate taking home games anywhere but Mt Smart. (What is it 1 win from 7 or something). Then add the travel fatigue factor. If travelling so often leads to: fatigue, issues at home, less training time, less relaxing time and worse food, uncomfortable seats etc; adding more travel cant help.
