Manu, Locke, Mateo for mine. Mannering was solid in the second half at centre and solidified the right side defence, also putting away those silly offloads. Seb deserves another go.

More of the same.
3 - Mateo
2 - Vatuvei
1 - Mannering,

Locke played well coming back from injury.

Xfactor

Mannering was solid in the second half at centre and solidified the right side defence,
Amen!

How many trys would the Knights have scored if Daley had stayed at centre. I don't care that Elliott said he wouldn't play forwards as backs, it was a professional decision to put Simon there and it won us the game!

+1 What a difference having Mannering at centre. It changed the game completely when Newcastle couldn't go there at will. Well done ME and the team. Whole team and coach for MOM because it was a team effort with a couple of standouts in Manu and Mateo

MOM for me Taylor because he worked hard all day, he was effective and he played the right kind of game for a 13 which he showed today is his best position
I was pleased for him, because he has deservedly got a lot of stick on this forum
When he scored that try it capped off a really good performance.
Closely followed by Sam , Feleti and Manu

Mateo
Manu - very close between those two. Mateo just shaded it but Manu was immense. To all those calling for his head what player in our squad could have done what he did today?
Locke - I've been very critical of him, and have gone so far as to say don't sign him to a new contract. If he continues to play like this then he will really start to be showing the class we knew he had.

Packer - I truly believe he won us the game. That fight he showed standing up to the Knights pack. Who are pretty good. Really set the scene.

Manu/Mateo - Sorry can't split them. Manu hasn't looked that good for years. Mateo really knuckled down and decided to play hard. Not flash. Hard. He's always a better player that way.

Locke - We're a different team without Locke. It's not even his physical game. He's just a real fullback and knows what to do.

H.M.

Friend - Crazy stats. True professional. Might not be an 80 minute man anymore. But he still plays hard.

Taylor - Best Performance all year. Need to see more of that sort of form. To be considered a true marquee.

Locke – for his first game back was really good. Nice plays on attack, good reads in defence and I think our defensive line looks better with him organising from the back.
Fish – has proven to me that he is worthy of a first grade position on the wing. Gives me about 10 times more confidence than Tupou.
Neilson – It’s unbelievable how much better his side looks in defence with him there. I think Manu benefits greatly with him there. Some smart runs too.
Carlos – not in our top 6 centres at the club. Needs Vulcans time, preferably for the rest of the season, depending on injuries. At least he has now played in a winning first grade warriors team.
Manu – I didn’t want him in the team prior to today’s game. He played very well. No errors, no dumb passes or attempted offloads, no bad reads in defence. Looked urgent and involved. Vintage Manu. Keep it going.
Thomas – Solid in defence as always. Not a half. Should not be attempting kicks unless Shaun Johnson or Locke are unavailable. Nice NFL try.
Shaun Johnson – Back pedalling in defence a lot but once Carlos got subbed we looked better. We can’t have two weaker defenders right next to each other in the line. Much better effort and attitude IMO. Still needs to take the line on more in attack, better in defence. Still improvement needed.
Rapira – Some really aggressive runs, fast play the balls and great line run for the try. 100+metres, 22 tackles
Friend – massive in defence, made a couple of strange decisions but very good all round game. Is not an 80min player anymore IMO. Giving him a rest for 10 or 20 is definitely needed. 48 Tackles!!!
Packer – Who ate too many pies? The aggression and passion this guy brings is massive. One of the few players we have who will stand up and take no shit from the opposition. If he can play a few more minutes we will be better off.
Mannering – As usual very solid. Showed how good he is filling in at centre and plugging the leaks in defence. A couple of poor decisions but at least they were at the right end of the field. Deserved the try and the win as reward for the work he does and the shit he has had to cope with.
Mateo – started the game on fire. Faded in parts but was still putting in for the whole 80mins. He should play 80 every game. 167 metres, 5 offloads, 21 tackles. My MOM.
Taylor – The marquee was actually very good today. If he can put away the shuffle step, the no look pass and the one handed carry and focus on tackling and running hard at the line he will be even better.
Lillyman – I thought Solid, no frills, which is exactly what we needed. But look at his stats 100+metres, 21 tackles off the bench.
Matulino – needs to trim the beard, I think it’s slowing him down. Still seems well off his form from previous seasons but really good today. 100+ meters, 14 tackles
Godinet – I’m a big fan but last couple of games he has fallen away. I think he is just trying too hard. Just play the structure and look for opportunities. Would persevere with him. Mara might be an option though.
Seb – added some impact off the bench. Some aggression and intent. Better than his previous games earlier in the season.
Matty Elliott – apparently you were a shit coach last week, must be a good coach this week. We are not far off putting some wins together. Have to back it up next week and the week after and…

Fantastic effort from the boys. Will mean nothing if we don’t back it up week on week. Unbelievable that this is practically the same team from last week. Line speed in defence, fast play the balls, urgency, commitment, attitude, passion from Packer(wish Mannering had held back Packer then started wailing into Snowden). I don’t think things like Packer standing up and trading blows can be underestimated. Shows we aren’t going to back down and the opposition aren’t going to have it easy. Next tackle Packer was straight into Snowden again. Great stuff. I would only make one change. Probably Laumape or Mannering to centre instead of Carlos. Also wondering what we do with Lowrie…

Hard to pick MOM with such a good team win. Went with Mateo. He was great for most of the game. The suit in the interview before hand was a motivating factor for me too…:)

has Bennett lost the sheds?, do the Knights need to merge ? do you still wish the Warriors would burn & die so you can "support " a new team. COCK

For the first time I can remember, I actually questioned Godinets introduction. Friend was on fire and the whole team seemed to have momentum. Nathan often flies under the radar as he goes about his business. It's sometimes only in the post-game stats that you realise the amount of work he actually does. For sure, he deserves an honorable mention at the very least.
