I like!

I reckon we got a real chance against the dragons and panthers !

This new draw might be a god sent to restart our season proper

Dragons as desperate as we are to get off the Egg, good choice for a first-up game.
Panthers without Cleary certainly a lot easier than with, but still not easy...

Jeez, if the boys can kick it this season without a home game, it might be time to just rename 'em the Nomads... It'd obviously play merry hell with club finances regarding season tickets as you can hardly sell season tickets on a promise of "Pay us for a season ticket, than for petrol to go to the Wellington game in Round 1, the Hamilton game in Round 4, the Auckland game...etc." but if it works...

Anyone else suddenly having that feeling "I know the season tickets are here somewhere, surely I wasn't stupid enough to throw them out thinking 'These'll be useless now the boys will at best be in Australia all season long!"? :wideyed:

Could be a trip to :banghead::facepalm::oops: City for mrblonde...:)

NSW have the most covid cases in the country so the NRL better be sure about restarting at the end of the month.

And while I do think they'll restart when they say, still I'll believe it when I see it.

Yes NSW have had the most cases but they also have the largest population with around 1/3rd of the country living there. Last week or so the daily cases have been around 1 mark so it’s relatively contained plus along with Vic has some of the toughest lockdown rules at the moment. Vic is the current hotspot at the moment the poor buggers Tas was a couple of weeks before then but it’s on the downward trend overall thankfully

Obviously this years a write off. We should focus on making sure Blair does not take up his option for next year. 80 minutes a game every game, design plays for him, hell make him do kick returns. Convince him it's time to retire.

The only bright spot in this whole thing is how many anchors we could potentially lose next year.

The Friday is a good slot with no union on Fridays for a while. If we were good I would say it would be a great opportunity to expand our supporter base.

in Australia the 6pm Friday night game is probably the least watched game. not on free to air and at an awkward time. especially with the game that follows generally being the "prime time" game.

Not sure what the Australian Super Rugby schedule is going to be, the NZ sides were looking to play Saturday and Sunday with start times of 3pm and 5pm. I can't recall what time was for what day. So if we are playing the earlier Friday night game it could mean there may be no NZ competition playing on other channels.

The Super Rugby Aotearoa start times in interesting as for years people have been calling for more day time football. Now they will be getting some but there won't be any crowds. It would be easier with the procedure for the away side travel to and from on the same day.

It would be interesting to see what grounds they use. Eden Park is expensive at the best of times, playing without a crowd wouldn't help. The NRL's and their broadcasters were debating the smaller grounds as it looks better on TV when there are no crowds.

Interesting to see how each sport is going about getting up and running under the current climate.

Pity the team is so injured ravaged (and looked like such shit in the 1st 2 games) - it would have been interesting to see how a better equipped team would go without the travel burden – seeing as they’ve played better in Australia the last 2 years than they have at Mt Smart.

15 out of 18 games (if the border with Aus is closed through September) are at most a 90 minute bus ride from home base to stadium.

They get a preview of how life is for the Sydney teams.

leaving aside family separation and the rest its literally rugby league boot camp, could be good for the youths in the side.

Once australia is past the bubbles and distancing stage, they could benefit from rounding up any and every specialist coach in NSW with some time on his hands who wants to come in and do some teaching - that they wouldn't come to auckland to do in normal circumstances.

Pleased to bits for the Friday 8pm NZ slot. Just a perfect start to the weekend. And, as the weather gets warmer the flurry of Sunday afternoon games to end the season will prepare us for the Grand Final heat! The Gods are aligned. It's our year! I'm all in.
