From www.warriors.co.nz:
Clinton Toopi was today given the all-clear by the Vodafone Warriors to join the New Zealand squad for its one-off test against Great Britain in St Helens next Wednesday morning (NZ time).
Head coach Ivan Cleary told the 26-year-old Toopi he was free to travel to England after this morning’s medical review revealed no major injury concerns from the 30-18 NRL triumph over the Newcastle Knights yesterday.
Toopi had been on standby for the match but was released to play for the Tamaki Leopards in their 26-26 Bartercard Cup draw with the Auckland Lions in the Ericsson Stadium curtain-raiser to yesterday’s NRL match.
Cleary had indicated two weeks ago that the club was keen to help the New Zealand cause for the test if at all possible.
Toopi travelled to England today with New Zealand coach Brian McClennan, support staff and management.
