1- webb - very good game from wibby. his inclusion/creation of attacking play was excellent. 8-10

2- toddy byrnee - very dissappointing again. has to inject himself into the game . 3-10

3 - our favourite Martin - good on attack,, great on defence,, big improver 6-10

4 -Toops - near M.O.M performance last week. failed to impress this week. 4-10

5 - manu - gets better each game. his defence is a little suss but his attack is farking awesom mate. -7-10

6- JRo - another improver. didnt get a lot of quality ball but made the most of what he got. good defensivly and would have gone close to MOM if not injured early in 2nd half.

7- fein. dear ivan. your hooker is not a halfback. signed ozbash. 5-10

8 - Rubes - awesome 7-10

9- Gatis - good game, cant understand why he was off so long. 7-10

10- Pricey. MOM for me. awesome display of leadership - 9-10

It wasn't a pretty win, but it was hard fought and well deserved.

The Warriors looked a off the boil in that first 1/4 - but Price stood up and showed them how they should be playing. Fortunately the team responded and picked it up, really toughing it out.

The boys really needed that win - and Johns out for the Knights they took the opportunity to exploit a somewhat rudderless Newcastle side.
I tend to think that Joey would have got the Knights home in that match with his leadership - but the Warriors cashed in on that advantage, like any professional side should.

was at the game and im just happy that they won. we were overpowerd by the red and blue but it was all worth it.

yes there were some moments when I threw my hands in the air thinking wtf??
JRo spent most of the match with a shoulder injury and really shouldn't have been playing once injured imo.
I hope that doesn't affect the injury more.

We were lucky the Knights were playing worse than us.

Faumuina showing some gutsy attack then offloading under the posts to Toddy. A brain freeze maybe but resulting in a set of six for us whereas it could very easily have been the winning try for them or a goal line dropout.

And then you see signs of brilliance - the forwards taking the ball up especially Ervan and Wiki. Price playing well for most of the game

Ervan offloading to Webby then onto Rovelli for the try - awesome.

I like the way you call it, but Byrne cant show his skills if the ball never makes it out to him. The only time he ever gets it is when he comes in to the middle and has a hit up.

Why they dont send more ball his way I dont know, hes got the pace

I think ozbash must have been watching another game because I thought Clinton Toopi had a great game. He was involved and was a threat whenever he ran to the line. So many times he beat the first tackle and when other defenders came in he still had his hands free to offload the ball. There was no one there to back him up and I would again question why there wasn't any players outside him in support. His new found maturity was evident aswell as he never passed the ball in the tackle.

He was brutal on defence too, anyone remember Craig Smith hitting a Clinton Toopi wall on a kick return??

8/10

thats why he got a 4, if it wasnt for that tackle it was going to be a lowly 3.

he seemed to go back to his ""fire stamping out, running on the spot, wtf do i do now"" routine of last year.
i was dissapointed in toops after his game v the tigers.

but you,re entitled to your opinion mosh.

Toopi was great...he was a commanding presence on the field.
Fien is getting better; his kicking game still leaves a little to be desired, but a great bust in the 2nd half, just a shame he lost the ball.
Rovelli was good, showed real pace for his try, but it was created through the work of others.
Let's build on the combinations that are starting to gel. Hope Ropati gets an extended run a stand-off, ditto for the the others in the slots they occupied on the weekend.
Stability is what we need.

LOL at last part of Ozbash last post!

I was really frustrated with some of the decisions made by players with the ball. Feins fantastic pass FORWARD and to the KNIGHTS was just wonderful on the SECOND tackle!

HOWEVER i was overall impressed with the teams ability to keep focused on the game and not let the Knights through for a win in the final 7 mins of the game. There have been plenty of times over the past year or so that the game would have been won by 2 points to the Knights with some of their final moves in the game. So i was impressed with the team on the whole for the effort and of course the WIN :):):):):)

Toopi for me had a good game.
Like Faumuina you tend to focus on ther dropped balls, missed tackles etc... forgeting the positives.
Toopi was noticed because he was getting involved. Good to see.

Tuimavarve was pretty close to MoM for me - he had a huge impact, scored a try, set up another - ran strongly and didn't see him make many if any errors.

Tony Martin was OK, better than he has been at least. He's still not going to offer a hell of a lot with his limited abilities but at least he can be solid.

We bombed a couple of certain tries also which we can't afford to do in future.

Perosnally I thought they all did well. Yes there were moments there that I nearly screamed in annoyance, but that's why I love 'em! hehe

I like the way you mention the word "team" a couple of times, Beckah, especially in your last sentence... being new to League and the players` faces, positions, etc., kind of limits my ability to observe individual players as much as most of the people posting on this thread, but that`s not actually a bad thing... in fact, it allows me to focus almost entirely on how they`re playing as a TEAM. Although even a newbie like me can see mistakes made on the field, for me the overall picture is more important. Which team played best defense? Best offense? Time of possession? Most importantly, which team was most dominant throughout the game? There`s room for improvement in all areas, of course, but the 2 D`s are what stood out the most for me in the past 2 games... the Warriors` Defense and Dominance, which both play a huge role in winning games. I really like what I`m seeing lately.

Personally I thought Toopi had quite a good game, he wasnt afraid to come further infield then just 5 metres unlike last season and was getting involved quite a bit.

Also I thought Vatuvai was excellent on defence today Ozbash, he put in a maybe match saving tackle on Carney and ripped him of the ball at least once before that.

But on the whole good game by everyone. Mom for me was Price, was the one who turned the boys around after a dreadful start.

Yes this is what i am liking too! I believe that you cannot hold your hopes of a win on one persons sholders, the whole team is responsible for a win and the whole team is responsible for a loss. The lost of Andrew Johns to the Knights was unfortunate, but this is not why they lost the game. They lost the game because on the day the better team that played yesterday won.
