Fullback Tuimoala Lolohea is the only NYC debutant named in the starting line-up for the Vodafone Junior Warriors' opening match of the season against the Eels. Photo: Photosport.
NYC experience can be found in all but one of the players in the Vodafone Junior Warriors’ starting line-up for their season-opening encounter with the Eels at Parramatta Stadium on Saturday (3.15pm kick-off; 5.15pm NZ time).
The only rookie named today to run on for the 2010-2011 NYC premiers is fullback Tuimoala Lolohea, a Marist junior.
The Kelston Boys’ High School student, who celebrated his 18th birthday on January 23, has been exceptional during the Vodafone Junior Warriors’ trials.
His form has earned him the No 1 jersey in a side featuring a number of regulars from last season, among them wingers Viliami Lolohea and David Fusitua, centre Ngataua Hukatai, halfback Mason Lino, prop Albert Vete and new captain David Bhana.
Lolohea apart – not related to Viliami Lolohea – the other first-year NYC players in the first team of the year are all on the bench, among them Tama Koopu, younger brother of 159-game former Vodafone Warrior Wairangi Koopu.
