General Top 8 Before The Season Has Begun

wallacenz

I know its early and there will be a lot of ifs but why not see who has the best guess..

This is my pick for the end of the regular season

1. Cowboys (Big tough forward pack and the Thurston and Bowen show)
2. Roosters (its a damn good lineup on paper, not the best forward pack but not bad and it wont matter if their halves can give skd and jennings some room to move. I think Pearce and Maloney may be the NSW combo)
3. Storm (Same ol', those three but their pack will probably get steamrolled against some of the bigger sides)
4. Sharks (I think they have the most athletic forward pack in the comp, lots of big minute players. I also think Gardner has been one of the most devastating fullbacks in the comp when he has been fit)
5. Manly (Personally I think we have seen their best and theyre on their way down but theyre not out)
6. Bunnies (just give the ball to Inglis)
7. Bulldogs (A monster pack, same as last year, and I do think Barba will be back later in the season)
8. Titans (Their forwards will carry the team in)

1. Melbourne (too consistent, and win the close games which in this comp is most of them)
2. Cowboys (will be really hard to beat and are going to have a scary good bench)
3. Manly (class in the key positions, the players the have lost don't fit their structure anyway)
4. Warriors (You heard it here first, unless you have heard it before)
5. Roosters (this team will run hot and cold, when they are hot look out)
6. Sharks (Brutal forward pack but with class, Gordon likely to get the nod at fullback and do the goal kicking this is the best team the Sharks have had in a while)
7. Rabbitohs (Reynolds will have a sophmore slump, and I think they will miss Dave Taylor)
8. Broncos (Hard to fault this team on talent)

1,ROOSTERS...SBW,MALONEY,JENNINGS...Must I continue?
2,TIGERS...NO SHEENS!
3,STORM...Because!
4,SHARKS..Getting better!
5,RABBITOHS..Umm INGLIS!
6,WARRIORS..Coming of age of a few!,,,
7,COWBOYS..They win up there!
8,BRONCOS..Somebody has to get 8!

(doggies 9TH...BAD KARMA)
my 2cents worth!

1 Bunnies- could be their time
2 Cowboys- picked them last year and they were pretty unlucky the way they got knocked out
3 Storm- obvious
4 Bulldogs- will miss barba but too good to miss the eight
5 Manly- premiership spine and experienced pack
6 Roosters- would be embarrassing if they miss the finals
7 Warriors- I'll back us- could be hard to stop if we can get on a roll
8 Panthers- suprise packet, they've recruited well and cleary will have them playing a high percentage style that will see them win more than they lose.

Well that's my guess

1.storm,spine of the century coach of the decade two well drilled
2. Souths, the team is full of talent and experience the roster is too good too finish anywhere but top two
3.doggies,hassler has the magic touch ,turns Average players into great players.the water into wine scenario
4. Cowboys, hard one this, but if jt wants too win a premiership with the cows it has too be now, before age and other clubs keep calling
5.sharks,probably won't break there premiership drought again this season, but brought well in the offseason to be a thron in any teams side.my smokey to go deep into the finals but fall at the last hurdle
6.Roosters,will be there and abouts but money doesent by you premierships, plus I hate them more than manly
7.manly, can't think of a reason, why their don't make the top 8 with a roster including the likes of both of the Stewart's and Jamie Lyon, your probably cracking the top six but I think their finish seventh this season
8.knights,toss up this one between the warriors, titans, raiders but I went with Benny the brain if it doesent work with the novercastrions, this season it never will, but with recruits like jermey smith the only way is up

1 Storm
2 Roosters
3 Dogs
4 Brisbane
5 Rabbits
6 Cows
7 Eels
8 Newcastle

you can take six sensible picks in almost any given NRL year and then see it all eroded by the most unlikely smokies if you try and pick eight.

If there is a way to perform miracles at Newy then Wayne Bennet will find it...shit roster or not

If that chubby kid formerly known as Jarrod.....now represented by cartoon drawings of aircraft.....could find his Mojo .....get fed the ball lots and lots all year....Phil and Rabs will lose their voices from all the man love and the Piss yellow wonders will scrape into eight .....oh Foohey ! Foohey moimoi

1. Cowboys
2. Storm
3. Sea Eagles
4. Broncos
5. Sharks
6. Eels
7. Rabbitohs
8. Panthers
16.Roosters, will lose all their points due to massive salary cap rort.

1.Storm - standard setters, business as usual but expect a few hiccups along the way
2.Sea Eagles - always hovering around the top 4, still have the core of their 2011 premiership team
3.Bulldogs - losing your key strike weapon in Ben Barba is a massive loss for them but they still have a great squad and great coach
4.Warriors - our squad depth should bode well for the season and I think it's strong enough for a top 4 finish even after last season's disasters
5.Roosters - excellent off season recruitment to compliment a strong squad, new coach ,SBW factor
6.Tigers - expect a better showing from Benji this season especially with the Kiwis captaincy taken off him and new coach Mick Potter
7.Cowboys - strong squad on paper, Thurston to be the chief commander as always ,solid platform laid by Tamou,Matt Scott,Tariq Sims, they'll be dangerous
8.Rabbitohs - the Inglis factor, dangerous players plus a game away from last season's grand final will be huge motivation to go one better this season

Not in order but I expect to see Cowboys, Storm, Rabbitohs, Sharks, Knights, Roosters, Warriors and either Manly or Dogs in the 8.

No shark's in your top eight, mode that's a surprise because their will be a hard team to beat especially at shark park.but you can't fit them all in the top eight, raiders tigers, titans, warriors, eels, panthers, knights what a bottle neck that is going to be to get the last spot,I think the dragons maybe the spoon contenders

Yeah it was a tough one but i left the sharks out too- thought they over achieved last year. They do look good on paper but look like their attack will be relying heavily on carney and Gordon who are both coming back from serious injury

Yeah Sharks there or there abouts bordering the 8 I'd say, Knights be better for it after a year under Bennett, forgot the Broncos too they have a strong squad but the Origin period usually slows them down a peg

I really like the Aussie bookmakers not giving us a chance and rightly so after last season but I think the players we recruited Leuluai,Nielsen and Lowrie will all be crucial players for us and will give us a steely edge which we lacked last season, they are definitely over looking us that's a good thing we can fly under the radar, time will tell but I'm confident the boys will go well hence my optimism of a top 4 finish.

I aren't as confident as I was a month ago, but still think we should be massively improved on last year,
but we are going into the season again with a big chunk of change already out of play and basically new spine to start the season with..
geezuz this morning is dragging waiting for the team lists.

Wooden spoon = Eels, Sharks or Sea Eagles - it'll be some team smelling fishy

** Please note : Due to forces beyond our control these predictions are liable to change throughout the season

Too right, not too good with the disruptions this early in the season, probably only Johnson,Friend and Packer would have slotted back in..Lousi's,Benry,Mara,Ropati not really guaranteed spots more or less on the cusp of selection at this stage anyway, we can select a decent team from those available mind you.
