General Top 8 2019

Dave Brough

We're 11th with the bookies right now to win the title at 20:1, $5.50 to make the top 4 and $2.20 to make the 8. Time for a few of the more confident members on this forum to take the plunge?
I got $2 75 to make the top 8 ,two days before the Dogs match.

I don't gamble on principle.

I am sorely tempted this season to put a spot on the Warriors winning the whole thing.

I think if they fluke a kind run of no injuries, the kind of run the Dragons had last year, without the final games seeing them suffer a bad run of injuries that St George Illawara suffered, that the Warriors could take it.

It doesn't help that we are one of the worst for coping bad injuries.

Seeing the boys run out muscle heavy with extra fat under Corvo this season rather than the lean Greyhounds that broke down last year . . . it sure is tempting to bankroll those prison builds with high end cardio the Warriors are sporting.

Rabbitohs (Reynolds gives the edge)
Roosters (Stacked team)
Storm ( Not enough added to beat top 2)
Broncos ( A year off their best)
Warriors (No fluent halves + big bopper)
NQ (JT gone too long + injury will recur)
Penrith (Best 6+7,but low depth)
Newcastle (Rely heavily on 2 players)
Canberra (Halves are weakness)
Parramatta (Forwards are average)
Sharks (Backs miss Holmes thrust)

These ones are just shit combos:
Tigers
Titans
Manly
Bulldogs

The Yeti, Loch Ness monster, Fjiordland moose and the Warriors big bopper.

Our propping rotation is big enough and more importantly complement each other. We have had enough 'statue bro' players.

If Agnatius , Bunty , Ah Mau and Lisone aren't big boppers.....
Mannering / Dale finucane mk2 in burr.
We have Jazz to fill the neiche small lock roll teams are fond of too ( Radley , Cmurray , Bsmith) Coincidence it's arguably the 3 best teams forming this mould alongside us.
Dally M Sheck.
We have great attacking hookers
Arguably the best back 5 in the comp
And our second row have tons of experience and are Ex storm ju jitsu edge ninjas.
We have Bgreen our discount Cooper cronk.
Our only ' weakspot' is potentially our 5/8

I like all of these players and what they bring. Crazy seeing some of the hits they are putting on.
