In reality he has had two terrible seasons in his career otherwise he is one of the best hookers in the game. Hodgson is a fair player but nothing fantastic imo.
Why did he save his two worst seasons when he came to us. Would have been nice if he had spread the love around with Souths as well LOL

In no particular order:
Souths
Easts
Cronulla
Panthers
Broncos
Storm
Warriors - biased, LASJ (life after SJ)
Titans - my #2 team
Raiders could actually fire
O

Who knows what’ll happen?

Easy, South had VERY strict coaches who kept him well and truly under control.

good point. A bit off topic but two of the best teams of there era Roosters 74-75 and Eels 81-83 had the ultimate disciplinarian Jack Gibson. No one fucked with Big Jack. Jack would have had that rabble over at Penrith in the foetal position by now crying out for there mamas

Player power is a myth, you cant let the inmates run the asylum. To have a strong team you have to have strong leaders.

Once again we have them right where we want them.

Not one single NRL.com pundit has picked us in their 8, not one - and that is fine by me.

Many are picking the Titans, Raiders and Cowboys to be big movers - not a chance I reckon!

Hodgson is a superb player, I doubt you've even seen him play.
My point was I would rather have Bully than Hodgson. No need to make it more complicated than that.

Amen to that. Like somebody posted before, Gould sacked the wrong coach, and probably for the wrong reason.

Serious question, why can the Cowboys improve losing JT but we can't even come close to last year losing Johnson. Surely everyone can agree who is the biggest loss?!

They have overstated the value of SJ and under estimated the improvement in quality of the team around the newbies. I still don't think we are top four, but top eight for sure.

I think it is out of sight out of mind.

The people who say we are worse of without SJ are the same ones who pinpoint that we lost the game because "SJ went missing".

To be completely honest, they have no idea. Brandy Alexander, one of the most astute minds in the game picked an Eels v Cowboys Grand Final last year and the Warriors to grab the spoon.

Well there is a bit of form there because they actually done better in 2017 without thurston- made the g.f.
Morgan was dominating- then last year jt came back and it all went pear shaped.
My take on them is that they still have a mean foward pack but don't have the backs to take advantage of it. Barba is a massive out.
Don't have them in my 8.

I just don’t know where the creativity will come from in the Raiders. They have lost Paulo and Boyd who were monsters in the front row. Blake Austin who was ok in attack could create and was competitive. The Titans will be a Dark Horse this year. Totally opposite to the Raiders with a competitive pack and electric backs.

It’s really tough to predict, teams were so close last year and some (Raiders?) could have improved. We should make the 8 though, need a good start though

History suggests that at least 2 and probably 3 teams that made the top 8 in 2018 won't be there in 2019. There was a decent gap between the top 8 and the rest in 2018 so let's be conservative and say only 2 teams drop out - I struggle to see how that could include the Roosters, Storm, Rabbits or Broncos. Panthers a small chance although they've been a constant in the 8 for a few years now and the recent off field turmoil doesn't really impact their first grade side. Sharks possibly at risk of missing out with the loss of Lewis, Graham for much of the season, Ramien ,Holmes, coach Flanagan and salary cap dramas offset by SJ and an aging Josh Morris. Then there is the Dragons and Warriors who I think are most likely of the 2018 top 8 to miss. In saying that, talk of us getting the spoon is surely crazy - our defence won't allow us to get close to that.

Titans to be big improvers.

It should come as no surprise the Aussie "experts" have us getting the spoon. We don't get a lick of coverage over here, and none of them have a single clue about anything at the club so who cares.

Majority of them have such low RL IQ it's laughable. They just sit in a big circle jerk, and regurgitate what the next bloke says. Bunch of dense c**** that can't think for themselves.

Guess we'll find out next Saturday how spoonish we are.
