General Too many cooks??

I think that the problems of the salary cap is because of the Warriors have too many people in a management type positions and no one really taking responsibility of ensuring that we meet the basics like salary cap restrictions.
Initially I thought Mick Watson was the boss (the CEO) and the guy who makes the decisions and he has to answer to Eric Watson. Yet now Maurice Kidd has come into the picture and has the power to sack Mick Watson. Then there was Spiro who was another football manager, god knows what he did. Who exactly was incharge of ensuring the books were right and we met the requirements and why do we have so many people in a Management type position.
Also why is Maurice Kidd now acting like a CEO while Wayne Scurrah is distant from this issue and not talking to the media?

Mick performed well initially and was given way too much latitude. Most boards do that when things are going well and only clamp down when shit hits the fan. Any half-devious CEO can hide detail and that is precisely where the devil is - in the detail, and that is where he and others have stuffed up here. Boards only get top level summaries unless there is a specific issue and any board with the NZRL on it (present or not) is not worth a damn.

As for Maurice Kidd, he and even Eric would have a "vague" awareness of what enticements were offered to high profile players. Especially given they may have involved Cullen in Steve Price's case. The books are probably not the issue here but likely the things around it, which many would have input in to, so the rap should be worn equally between Mick, Don and Spiro.

I'd imagine Maurice has been told that this happened on his watch so he is to cop the flak whilst Wayne fixes things, which also keeps Wayne's reputation as clean as possible in the circumstances (very necessary), and provides a public scapegoat should a sword is available to fall on.

One theory out today is that "they" knew back in September but held off to secure season tickets and are looking at brokering a deal by being super-transparent and offering some player agents as sacrificial lambs to avoid a negative points situation. Makes sense. I'd do it.

Not a case of too much management, just not enough leadership in it. Ethical or actual.

we started on the way side as soon as cullen investment almalgamated
that there open the door for every indiscretion that has effected our club
to have two separate boards
and then to not communicate internally is setting itself up for disater
mis management comes from the top
to have cullen involved so publically
has deterred our front office creditability
as well as wanting to branch off into union and boxing
we dropped the ball by not harnessing and concentrating
on our one sole purpose....our game

Granted, but our game is not Cullens sole purpose.

exactly pb cullen sadly had other interest
that unwisely we as in the nz warriors board
were dragged into them by association
a board that yes had to many similar affliations
and sadly where not address as separate entities
