Lowrie signs up
Experienced back-rower Todd Lowrie will join Dane Nielsen as the second player from the Melbourne Storm to sign with the Warriorsfor the 2013 NRL season and beyond.
Warriors recruitment and development manager Dean Bell confirmed the hard-working Lowrie, who made his 158th NRL appearance on Friday night, will join the Auckland-based club on a two-year deal through to the end of the 2014 season.
His signing comes three months after it was announced Lowrie's teammate and Queensland State of Origin representative Nielsen would leave the Storm for the Warriors on a three-year contract from next season.
"Coming to Melbourne was great for my career but I'm really excited about the move and about having my future sorted out for the next few years," said Lowrie who has previously played for Newcastle and Parramatta.
"Now I can get on with focusing on the rest of the season here with the Storm."

wouldnt off been my pick of a player we need but dude does show's ticker and is a workaholic

something 90% of the team at the mo dont show

If we are raiding the Storm...can we please have a crack at Billy Slater.... I can't stand the guy but could grow to like him if he was wearing a Warriors jersey. I'd also take their coach, maybe Matt Duffie and Wilt Chambers.

may as well grab joel edwards from the knights too then all we need is some more outside backs, another half/6 and a coach. i feel my faith returning when we get them..

Antony Quinn ,should be the on are hit list if we are going too poach storm players.but we have too replace lucky with a veteran and lowrie is a good choice.i would rather Hoffman or Dallas Johnson.but lowrie is a solid pick up IMO

Quinn is another lefty, we already have Tupou on the wrong wing. Plus Quinn's body language and style of play is very similar to Tupou... not what I would look for.

I want a specialist right winger who can cover fullback... Quinn could cover centre or lock only.

Starting to hear murmurs of discontent about this guy... I heard the word 'release' mentioned

Wouldnt surprise me if Martel ended back at the Eels sooner than expected...Martels mrs works for the Warriors thou

Lowrie - how much thought was put into this apppointment ? Is he really what the team needs? Good player granted but I'd be more impressed with recruitment for wing & centre positions.

Players dont want to move to NZ, and the good ones don't need to, they have 15 clubs at home who will take them. When the cap goes up its gonna be harder.

I think this is a good signing, We need a player like Michael Luck otherwise we will continue to see teams march right through the middle of us.

We need a leader. Without Luck we are lost.

I am so sick of this blaise BS in the ingoal. They don't even look at Iro when he is giving orders. They have their back to him and watch the conversion. Surely they could pay attention to him and someone could let them know if it misses, or even have a look at the scoreboard after Iro is finished talking.

The body language of this team is alarming N. ig. What will it take to fire them the fuck up?
We've discussed our views on Ukuma in the past, so I know where you stand on him. I'm sick of our powder-puffs being bitchslapped! Rusty's response to being shoved by Tamou was tellingly pathetic! Had he at the very least shoved him back it would have said "you may beat me on the field, but you'll never own me motherf****" Tamou didn't need to come back on after his injury, he just wanted to slap some more bitches. Ukuma is the only forward in recent memory (besides Mutts) that I would call 'tough'
Errors be buggered, until most of the rest of the team stop making them I won't hold a microscope to Ukuma. Remember that interview with him posted on the old site last year where he said " I, like....like to hurt someone" People here thought it was gold! We instill no fear whatsoever. This is compounded by the fact that there is no-one in the in-goal telling them in no uncertain terms what they need to hear i.e "Wake the fuck UP"
