Yes folks I'm Back !!

Next year look for Vatuvei to move into the back of the scrum, thus clearing the problem of too many wingers. His speed and size will have him creating an awesome danger to other teams and it will be shades of Feka all over again but even better. Will also solve the problem of his catching a ball.

The Tipster has spoken and he is NEVER wrong !!!

The tipster does bring up a good point there. It could work and like you said free up a spot on the wing for someone.

I hope this is the first time you're wrong, Sinbad. I don't like that idea. Vatuvei serves well on the wing in attack. The only solution required for his catching the ball is to put him on the 20 metre line in front of the posts for receiving kick offs.

Alternatively, you could have him defend in a forward position, (most likely lock), and have him attack on the wing. I'd prefer to keep him on the flank, though, and just shift him out for receiving kick offs.

Yeah your also right. His attacking flair would quite possibly be wasted in the fowards.

perhaps put crockett on the bench n give ah van a rest while crockett is on, then crockett on the bench n ah van on the field :p

Defending in the middle of the ruck is a bit of an art and Vatuvei doesn't strike me as knowing what he is doing. I can see him taking the wrong option and giving away plenty of points.

I wouldn't move Vatuvei from a position in which he is succeeding. Sure he has the odd off game on defense (like on the weekend) but overall he is great on attack, makes some piercing runs down the flank and is good at contesting the bomb.

Yeah he makes up for his lapses in concentration :) with his barnstorming runs, usually setting up tries. Hell if it wasnt for his run on saturday night we MAY not of won. (probably still woulda though lol)

its actually harder to defend on the wing then it is in the middle of the park, out wide if u make the wrong decision it usually results in points whereas in the middle u always have someone backing u up.
IMO leave vatuvei on the wing, he is the quickest in the squad and he is one strong mo fo, IMO he is our best winger so we should not take him off the wing to accomidate for our abundance of wingers.
my team for round one next yr would look like this:
1.W. McKinnon
2.P. Ah Van
3.T. Martin/J. Ropati
4.S. Mannering
5.M. Vatuvei
6.M. Witt
7.G. Rovelli
8.R. Wiki
9.N. Fien
10.S. Price
11.L. Anderson
12.M. Luck
13.S. Faumuina

14.G. Gatis/L. Hohaia
15.E. Tuimivave
16.S. Rapira
17.E. Lauaki/W. Koopu/S. Fai

I agree with sinbad, vatuvei could be our super sub, imagine that speed and impact off the bench, he'd tear tired defences to shreds. second rower next season with ah van and crockett on the wings. if not, i wouldn't mind seeing vatuvei in the centres.
