This is one of the national papers in PNG and is just the news for one day, kind of explains why they have no fear on the football field as just existing is a journey into danger. Crazy thing this isn't even out of the ordinary. Check out both the news and sports stories.

Mate spent a few weeks in moresby. Most dangerous city in the world. But the people are amazing. I was there helping world vision so we were the good guys. Have to say its one of those times I was embarrassed to be white. The US, UK , Aussie and NZ companies are all stripping the place of its oil, uranium, gold, plutonium, countess other minerals and giving nothing back, other than the odd backhander to some politicians. These poms came in 6'4" shaved heads, 'security' for their oil company - told me to 'f off and stop being a traitor to my country' only because we were setting up food programmes for the homeless. Bastards. It's probably why I subconsciously hate burgess!!
Number one league team supported in PNG- Maroons. Number two- Warriors. We're seen as the Polynesian rep team in the NRL.
If you're into scuba- the diving is unbelievable. Just abit of nervousness getting to the site through the city lol.

I know exactly what you mean, was there for nearly 12 months, when I told the nationals I worked with I wasn't coming back I finished up in a huge scrum of them hugging me, mind you as you know the difference between a hug and a bush knife separating your head from your body can be as much your wrist watch. You forgot the Chinese, but I think more than the other countries they are getting shafted more by their own politicians and police.

Where were you staying in Moresby? Where were you doing your work I was working in Waigani at the Holidiay Inn near Vision City. I lived at different times in Koki, Ela Beach and above the Port just down from the Waterfront Mall.
