General The new team

Every one seems to be most happpy with this weeks team, alot of focus has gone on the wingers, and alot on Grant Rovelli.

I think a dangerous combination could be formed between our new halfback and Sione. Like Jones and Ali except, there are some differnces between the old and possible new combination.
Sione isn't as physically good as Ali, but I think he has a better footy brain than Ali.
Which I think could lead to some great attacking moments. What do you all reckon?

i hope you are right jon.

i reckon ravs will have trouble keeping up with sione to start off but once they get used to each other...

Awhile ago I posted this, and I belive that i am correct, in that we have a dangerous duo here, Sione got a try off A rovelli kick today and last week both of them were involved in the first try of the game....

Yeah but Siione does well when he's out widish not stuck in the middle. I don't know if I'd change things now. I know I'm not a fan of Ropoti..btw Ozbash I can't complain about his performance this week ;) but him and Ravs are starting to get better all the time...don't just suddenly change it like that

there really was no stacey and ali combo. it was more like throw the ball to ali let him show u his magic. same with sione.

what rovelli needs is a suitable 5/8th partner. when i say suitable i mean someone who can take pressure off him. someone who can kick, pass and help direct the team. its unfair that rovelli has so much pressure on him.

i swear its getting so annoying, just hurry up and partner him up with lance hohaia. problem solved

I agree. I want to see hohia in 6. Ropati is a good player but ive said it before ropati should be in the centres and when gatis comes back he should be the interchange back.

I agree that Ropati isn't the best option at standoff, but there is no way I want to see Hohaia there. If anything, I'd put Fien at 6 and Hohaia at 9. Hohaia plays well with space, so only 7 and 9 suit him, and I think Rovelli is playing too well in the number 7 jersey to warrant shifting him anywhere else.

Yeah, actually now that i think about it that would be a better plan having fien at 6 and hohia at 9!!

Lets leave Jerome right now. You've got to create the right motivation within the club - there's a motivational theory called reinforcement theory which says basically that a good performance or outcome should be rewarded in a some expected positive manner. A good performance there for Jerome should be rewarded with selection for next week. It'd be confusing to the player if he was dropped after a good performance after being retained through indifferent performances.

PS: Yes, even aside from the try I thought he was very good today. Here's hoping it continues.

I agree 100%. I see no point in changing it if it isn't broken. ;)
