It`s real quiet on the forum this afternoon... got my suitcase packed and heading off to the airport in a while. That got me to wondering if anyone else has done much travelling in the past.
So who`s travelled to other countries, where did you go, and did you enjoy the experience?

Don't forget your match report before you leave, AK.

I've been to, Tonga and Australia. Tonga was interesting, Australia is now home.

BTW, AK, I have family in Pakuranga.

Been to Fiji (born there and been back numerous times), NZ, Australia (currently living - done most places here), Canada (my ex wife was a canadian), USA, Bali, South Korea.

bali was awesome! cant wait to go there again at the end of this year.

Would love to do Africa and South America.

Don't be forgetting about us mate! hehe

I've been to: Australia, Banckock, Maylysia, Singapore (where I was born) and America

I've been to Bali, Greece, Singapore and Australia.

I'm half Greek so I always love going back there. The food, the weather, the beaches, the WOMAN are all beautiful.

Singapore is awesome. First really buzzing city I had been to.

Australia is wicked. I love Melbourne and if I was to move there it would be to Melbourne.

Bali I went to with about 13 friends lol. Our parents were all mates and we went on a huge family holiday ...about 30 of us. It was freaking awesome.

Planning on heading to the USA sometime this year either with my dad to New York for a business trip with him or maybe to work over the holidays in Arizona with a friend who goes to the Unversity of Arizona. As I was telling people in the chat room the other day I long for the college life - parties, sports, drinking, girls.

I can't wait :D.

I've stayed in Melbourne for a week. It's a gorgeous city, and the people are delightful.

Spent a week in Rarotonga in the Cook Islands for my honeymoon. That was gorgeous - the culture is incredible!

But my favourite place of all is Africa. Spent four weeks in the slums of Nairobi, Kenya, then hopped around several small villages in Tanzania. The people are incredibly hospitable, killing a goat or a chicken to cook up a big meal for you...just amazing. Longing to go back, particularly to Tanzania.

Sydney, GC, London, Inverness, Kirkcaldy (little place near Edinburgh), Glasgow, Los Angeles.

Lived in Sydney for a couple of years. It's a nice place - wouldn't mind spending a bit more time living there.

The GC has beaches and nice weather. Suits me.

London: Meh. Dirty and when i was there pubs were getting nailbombed. Oh, and the people aren't that nice.

Scotland: Grand place. Little cold though. Overall with the UK, believe the cliches.

LA: Will only use the place as an entry point to the US now. I didn't really like it.

Well, having served 20 years in the RNZN have circumnavigated the world twice (on the taxpayer thank you)

Visited some real funny and way out places and eaten and carried out some weird strange things.

Spent time in Fiji as a trainer. Love the people.

Served time as an Embassy Guard in Moscow, Bloody cold !

Visited USA & Canada. Loved it Canada is very much like NZ. Spent 2 years in LA. Mexico is Just across the boarder...great place to visit , OMLY !

Have Safaried in Africa (with a camera)

Played Golf in the Middle East (On Browns as they call the greens !) Too much sand and no BOOZE ! (due to the religion)

Visited the Old Country , And did the obligatory tour across the Contenent (with 2 mates and a pommie girl friend ) in a VW Krombi for 2 weeks. Went to Octoberfest Can't remember much ! Was pissed as !

Have visited the most beautiful place on earth....Antartica,,,Untouched beauty.

Told the missus if Richard Branson gets his space plane up and running I want to go to the Moon !

To all of you that haven't been anywhere I can say without doubt that New Zealand is THE best place on earth. Clean Green and full of wonderful people,!

Yes Wiki I also agree that Greek women are beautiful but boy can they drink !

Appreciate what you have and look after it for all.

traveller of the seven seas??

been across the ditch, hawaii, and canada

but agreed no place like home

safe travelling AK

Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Gold Coast - all numerous times and always seem to return with a slightly crook liver.
2 years ago took the wife and kids to Northern Ireland for my boys 2nd birthday and toured part of the north - beautiful countryside
Came back via Amsterdam and had a quick look around - nice city - heaps of dark-skinned fellas!
From there, stopped over in Hong Kong for 3 nights for my daughters 12th birthday. Too many people for my liking and the class differences in the space of a tiny island was incredible!! The absolute epitomy of high society on 1 side and total slums on the other. Real eye-opener.
It was here that I found out about DA's demise.

What about languages - can anyone speak another language?

Ooh, good question!

I speak English! Woohoo!

Lol...

I also speak some German, a little bit of Maori, (not as much as I'd like), and some Swahili! :D

i'm currently living and working in Saigon, Vietnam and have previously lived in Indonesia on and off for 5 years (made sure i didn't miss the league season) Hence i can speak a limited amout of both languages, though just enough to get myself into trouble. Have had a quick vist to the USA (Cali. and Haiwaii) and Mexico, gone to Europe a couple of times, mostly in the UK, but had stopovers for a few days in Paris and Amsterdam. Also i have been to Hong Kong (which like Brucer i didnt like) , Singapore,Thailand and Australia a few times.
