didnt watch the game so just a few thoughts.... most our team wouldnt even make the Sharks lineup thats how shit our team is.... shame they gave SK a extension on his contract after one game which was a false hope, he should have been fighting for his position like the rest of the team.... SJ was a way bigger lost than we could have imagined it really hampered what little we had built on the year before, was also to big a ask for our rookies.... Im still waiting to see the fruits of POS not sure whats happening in that area tbh.... Smith also needs to have a frank conversation with SK surely Smith has seen some head scratching decision..... Smith, SK, POV need to sort this shit out asap or we will see the same shit next year.... fuck Im sick of this shit

couple other thing:
-to many short stumpy body type, easy pickings
-bring in some changes... see what Frei has to offer, swap out Papalii for Curran
-got nothing else cause we shit

The title says about lack of effort. That would of been interesting for Kearney to say after what the CEO said during the week and getting told its Kearney's job processes are in place. That would of come across like the Kata can't pass to his winger at the members forum, gets pointed out and goes off like a cartoon light bulb. I didn't see a quote for lack of effort specifically.

"It was really frustrating," said Kearney. "There is a real lack of belief, lack of resilience in the group. Before the Canberra game, there was a period of a couple of months there where we worked hard and had some resilience.
"It was really disappointing [yesterday], some really ordinary tries [conceded] and we just made it too hard for ourselves."

Along with individual responsibility the coach is partly responsible for instilling belief in the playing group.

This is a squad he has built after 3 years and if there is a lack of resiliency the questions need to be asked.
Why did you sign them?
Why are they under contract for so long?
Are you getting rid of any of them?

Basically what are you going to do about it?

"We need to get back to what we know works for us," said Kearney. "When it got a bit too challenging, it was just too soft, some of the points the Sharks scored."

It's a perfect storm for the Warriors. Confidence is down, structure is missing on attack and defence, and the desire on display against the Sea Eagles two weeks ago has disappeared.

He mentions going back to what works for us a lot. Sounds like someone who had a little success (call last year a little success) and keeps going back to it. At this rate we will be trying to get back to 2018 in 2020, 2021, 2022. The other teams may have worked us out, the game evoloving with the other teams moving the ball more than we do.

It was posted earlier about Maguire saying the Tigers were going to try something different. They put on 46 points, ok the Knights are in a slump but still the point is Maguire saw something and took the risk to make changes.
No resilience, no belief, no effort.

I bet we could find several press conferences where he said that in year one. At what point is it no longer a valid excuse and how long does Kearney get to fix it seeing as the exact same issues remain in year 3?

Let's be honest, when we beat the Sea Eagles they were way down on their best in wet weather. They made breaks that normally they'd convert easily.

The first time we played the Sharks they couldn't hold the ball. So many unforced errors.

Aside from that our wins are against teams who are lower or around the same place as us.

Kearney has taken a slow, low skill, low confidence team and turned it into a slower, lower skilled, lower confidence team.

Only took him 3 years to do it too.

Except for RTS of course! I will admit there are signs of frustration creeping in to his performances though!

The head shake after conceding another soft try said it all really.

The Uele try was probably another sign of frustration. Racing out of the line to try and set an example, but no dice.

Agree. The team is looking too much like the 2016 one again when we had the likes of Jacob Lillyman and Bodene Thompson getting smothered by the much larger opposition. Am hoping Harris can stay on the paddock more next year.

Can't argue with what you are saying. It is interesting though how the results show that not many teams beat their opposition twice in a season and to go from a one point victory to a 28 point loss is a huge disappointment. The storm is the only team that consistently beats the Warriors in both games they play each year at the moment though the Warriors used to be their bogey team many moons ago. The next two weeks will either prove a theory bullshit or the comp is pretty even though with some of the margins of the losses there's no comparison to the opposition they are playing.

100% agree, we are in some sort of hole. I didn't feel like we were amazing last year like some others did, but thought it was a step in the right direction. No idea what happened this year to take such a big step back, more so in the attitude/mental side of things which appeared to have improved somewhat last season(atleast on the previous 6 seasons anyway).
The slide started aftervthat Melbourne Anzac hiding last year when the whole team and tactics started revolving around selecting Kearney sons first and making it work.

Agree. When our cricket side is under the pump with people asking what is wrong I'd often tell people the players aren't as good as we think they are. They are the team we see the most so see the good things they do on occasion so we know what they can do when they are at their best. The key thing is they can't perform at their best or close to it often enough. Also we often discount how much better the opposition is as we look at our stars. The same can be said of the Warriors.

The other thing with our current squad is each individual provides some good points. But as a whole are they what we need?
Outside backs we don't have speed. Front rowers don't make huge metres, second rowers that can run through holes or offload.
The thing is a good team is greater than the sum of all parts - this is how I see the black caps.

The difference is the Warriors are less than the sum of all parts.

The Black Caps are a great example and benchmark. They put in 100% every game. They have confidence in their game plan. They have a great and inclusive leadership group. Often they are written off but they thrive on that underdog tag. There are no egos. Everyone does their part and does what is best for the team.

Everything the Warriors are not basically.

Not joking, but it is about time somebody called SK on the process shite. It is clearly total bullshit, akin to the King with no clothes story and when get former respected players rolling their eyes about it, you know it for what it is...bullshit.

Not knocking SK as a person, he did not ask for this job and he owes this club nothing, but if he had any honesty he would sit down and admit to somebody that he isn't up to this job and talk about walking away...with dignity.
Oh for honesty above the line

It’s all part of the process to move the Warriors to Wellington
On behalf of Wellington can I just say FUCK OFF!! We don't want them here
We already have enough useless spongers here in the Beehive
Perhaps Christchurch might be interested?

We got ran ragged, but were still in touch come half time.
After watching the Saints and Knights get master classed as well.
Our team at least had a sniff. we are shyte right now and will be for while if our coach wont try things and change up.
Whats the use of having fringe players if he wont try them.

Did everyone hear Blocker call us clowns? If I remember correctly, he was saying one of the Shark's players was "having a field day against these clowns"

To be honest though, its hard to disagree with him at the moment
He said , Fifita & Uele are owning these clowns. I somewhat agree. But, As a commentator I'm pretty sure you're suppose to keep your bias in check. This fucking fat mongol is the biggest nz warriors hater alongside Kimmorley & Anasta lol
