NEWCASTLE will meet today with police to discuss beefing up security for Friday night's match against the Bulldogs at EnergyAustralia Stadium.
About 30 police and 60 security guards were at EnergyAustralia for the round one match against Parramatta.
That figure could surge past 100 for the game against the Bulldogs, who encountered fan trouble again last Friday night.
"Clearly it's an issue that has to be sorted out," said NRL chief executive David Gallop.
Gallop, Bulldogs CEO Malcolm Noad, Police Commissioner Ken Moroney, Police Minister Carl Scully and Telstra Stadium chief Ken Edwards will meet tomorrow to discuss the issue.

"We don't want to say too much more until after the meeting," Gallop said.
