Yep...if you score two tries but let three in...you are a liability...how many Warriors come into that category?

Kerney has shown up the old nz league fallacy that "scoring more points than the opposition" is the best ideal to focus on.
He's gone for 1% champions and has been rewarded nicely with a champion team.
Its all about placing process goals above results goals in the priorities.
Of course they want to score points, but they want to play high quality footy more than that, so they can walk off the field with pride, with or without victory...
And funny enough, they have only lost one test in the last two years... 7 from 8. Not bad...
But year I totally get why people want kerney sacked. Lol..

That WC squad in 2013 was a disastrous squad on and off field. Went from the messiah Bennett as assistant to Cleary and it showed in terms of all round squad discipline. Didn't hear a whisper when Bennett was involved in the first WC triumph fast forward to 13' we had Foran & SBW and the energy drinks & pills scandal among other rubbish. Just a total disaster campaign.
Certain players in that squad compared to the personnel we have now some of the guys in the squad at that time wouldn't get a look in at a training camp let alone the actual team now days.

Technically it's three matches in the last two years (including the 2013 world cup final, the 2014 ANZAC test and the first test against England).

Kidwell looked more like the Kiwis coach then Kearney. Kidwell just exudes that Kiwi passion.
Or maybe they're trying to turn Tui into something he's not...he looks like a duck out of water playing in the halves. but looks like an absolute natural on the wing.

Well i guess if he couldn't defend, could barely catch, couldn't kick, had no real ball skills to speak of, had very limited footwork and took longer to turn than the queen Mary, and who's only real talent was running straight and hard, then yes, he would probably suit prop more than any other position.

Exactly, that's also one of the reasons I haven't reamed Hiku, picked to play a test series, in England, in a position he's never played, that requires a skill set he doesn't have, hard to blame him really. Benji may have been the short term answer, but was never going to be the real answer, so I'm still OK with that call, but maybe a untested young half would have been a better choice rather than a untested winger/FB.

Luke at stand off and Cherrington or Brown at hooker? Brown at stand off? Would have been options I'd have considered
I won't suggest something ludicrous like taking Marshall or Isaac John at this stage
- Hoffman could have been useful though?

Very obvious answer to that question bud and that's on Kearney. Select the best team available. We could have won a test series in England without a lot of our top players ffs if he had just gotten over himself and selected at least one specialist half who happened to be available and was vastly superior to anything we had on offer in that series.

Not sure if showing emotion proves your coaching skills, Bennett has done OK over the last 30 years or so showing little more than occasionally blinking.

Kerney picked the best defensive team he could, and it's got us to No1. So I'm happy with his selections given the injuries he's had to contend with.
