General Russia Invades Ukraine

Amazing to see how quickly everyone is forgetting about this conflict now that it’s apparent there is no glorious victory for Ukraine.

Side note, a number of pro Ukraine American freedom fighters are getting outed as LARPing in costume and never went anywhere near combat
Not sure what its like with the news bulletins in Oz, but in NZ they will have something about it on One News at 6 pm most nights. I have a read of the Guardian a few times a week and it always has a prominent link on the homepage to each day and has since day 1.

They do puff pieces on how bad RUS, or how crazy Putin is etc. But not a substantial war update in a while.

I don't read too much of the mainstream NZ Press on Russia or China. It is as weak as.

The British and Merkins, and even the Australians are better.

In case you want to know in a snapshot, Russia is getting done over, but if China steps in to help Putin there will be shite to pay.

Xi would love to give Russia ammunition but is worried about what the west, not just Merka, will do to him and his trading income.

You've got to wonder if Russia's "special military operation" isn't going so well when it's being reported that trains are carrying 1950's era T-54 and T-55 tanks from eastern Russia towards Ukraine. I wonder how they will go against the German Leopard 2 tanks.... not very well you'd think.

Cue the posts that they are being sent to other areas of Russia so they can send in more T-14 Armata tanks to the Ukraine.

So while Zelensky is begging for equipment, the Russians still have massive amounts of stockpiled weapons?

Most do not go anywhere near the fighting, probably are not able to. They just forward whatever the Ukrainian Government gives them. Probably the same with the Russians.
Bullshite...maybe Fox News don't but many do

Name one who has reported from the frontline for msm
  1. Evgeni Sakun, Kyiv Live TV, aged 49 - Ukrainian cameraman killed on 1 March by Russian missile attack.
  2. Brent Renaud, documentary filmmaker, aged 50 - killed on 13 March at the frontline reporting on fighting northeast of Kyiv.
  3. Maks Levin, Ukrainian photo-reporter whose photos have been used by Reuters and appeared in the WSJ and Time Magazine - aged 41 - murdered by Russian forces on 13 March.
  4. Pierre Zakrzewski, 55, and Oleksandra kuvshinova, 24, Fox News crew - killed on 15 March near Kyiv.
  5. Oksana Baulina, Russian opposition reporter for The Insider, aged 43 - killed by Russian suicide drone on 23 March.
  6. Mantas Kvedaravicius, Lithuanian documentary filmmaker, aged 44 - killed in Mariupol on 2 April, a few days after he’d been captured by Russian forces.
  7. Frédéric Leclerc-Imhoff, from the French news channel BFMTV, aged 32 - killed on 30 May when an evacuation convoy of civilians he was reporting on came under attack by Russian artillery.
These eight reporters were not just there reporting on the conflict, they died…. six of the eight while on the frontline.

BBC, Channel 4, ITV and Sky News have all sent back reports from the front line in the last week or so. Hopefully you can watch this out of region but this is the BBC reporter and his sole cameraman who went within a few hundred yards of the Russian positions.

There is a big push coming from the Ukrainains. They are just playing games about where and when and how much.
