Metcalf is pretty dang quick over long distance, seems to just keep getting quicker the longer he runs. Not suggesting hes Shaun Johnson fast but hes quick.

That Jennings chase down at the time I just thought, WOW, that just quantifies how fast we "thought" Shaun Johnson was prior..

Now Shaun Johnson is playing a more subdued Stacy type halves role in game management some people think hes rubbish due to lack of "Magic". I remember a time not so long ago only wingers were allowed such pace.

If you talking about Kiwis v Great Britain at carlaw park I was there.... Last couple minutes he runs the length of the field almost untouched to win the game.... We were starting to walk out to get a head start from the crowd while watching him burn pass and score

One of my favs to watch live. He had after burners, you think your team has a chance and he hasnt even changed gear.

There were so many fast wingers in the day, now they concentrate on size, but I want to see Metcalf used on the wing so we finally have true pace on the wing for once. Hes 6ft, 90kg, like most of our spine, was a half, forced to change. But he is also tough and can bust a tackle. Whether from 6 or FB, or imo given how many times the draw and pass to over commit the centre is used, he will likely get a lot of chances unmarked and all over from there.



Cant update my sportsbet, was going to fire a cheeky Warriors 13+ on. Oh well, I will probably regreted it anyway ;-p. I just have a feeling todays the day we do not drop the ball every set or give a stupid penalty away. Which should mean Sharks will have to work for their points. The wingers are menacing, the halves are in tune, thats what the D has to target.

Haha, that sums Cronulla and especially "Northies" up to the max brah.

On paper we got it, but its all about sports psychology, we have to believe we deserve the win. Otherwise you get guys dropping the ball 4 times in a game and twice unmarked to the line etc. I believe that mare from Kosi was mental, he proved he can catch a footy and score the 2 games prior.

Im not sure how Browny stops Lodge putting in 4 penalties in a game either, especially cheap shots.

But that is all Browny has to do, the halves and OBs showed in the Broncos game and other games they have the points. That is not the issue. Although that was Chanel Harris-Tavita, hopefully Asi has if anything gotten more in sync with further training in the spine and back line.

Hold the ball, with SJs game management skills, win. Sharks wont win the game, we will lose it, or we will turn the corner and win it, imo. No disrespect to the Sharks.

He looks like Brett Stewart in full flight. Weird how Manly let him go. Don't waste him at wing. He's an out and out FB or a running 5/8. If he plays 6 he'll need a halves partner who can control the game. Shaun Johnson will do for now, and Volkman will grow into that HB. I think Chanel Harris-Tavita will become a utility or leave.

You could well be right. I was just meaning if 6 and FB are blocked, hes too good not to make possie for and speed on the wing could be killa. I guess we will see how it plays out.

Yeah exactly we usually get ripped off against these dogs as they win off forward passes.

Frankly the Gallen Sharks were way better than us, the peptide drug cheats had three of the best forwards in the world, Fajita, Golden, Luke Lewis and they were supported by forwards who at least matched our best...their B forwards were as good as our A forwards.

Well father time has culled their pack and if our two Alpha props and backrowers finally get angry like Ben Murdoch-Masila anger last week...then we have the better pack.

Lots of if buts and maybe.

And on potential if our spine finally wakes up we would thrash the Sharks, but yeah that has never happened in 27 years vs them it is always close and often times depressing
