For those thinking of they'll go to the game, tickets are from $20 and, according to the club, seats are selling fast. Children 15 years and under are free when with an adult (one child per adult).

Be great to see a full house!!! Now to think of an excuse as to why I can't go to a great nephew's birthday party on Sunday ;)

It will be great to see if we can keep playing at the same level as we did last week. We’ve been very consistent by our standards and we need to maintain that throughout the season.

It’s a great opportunity to start the season well at home. Last weeks win will have made sure it’s a good crowd and the Bulldogs have some top players but the pack and bench look a bit weak. Two points here would solidify our spot in the 8 and will keep the crowds up at home.
Top 4 mate!

Problem is I think I've probably used that excuse one too many times already. Maybe I'll need to be away for 3 hours visiting a new client at Matakana who is flying out on Sunday night overseas for four months and needs me working on a project while he's away.

True story.... her ex and Carlos Spencer nearly came to blows at an after-match function when Carlos started hitting on her. Mr Toffee Pops didn't hear the word "no" very often!!
A mate and I caught a mini van with a couple of girls we knew after an all black game one night- and we saw christain cullen waiting at a taxi rank so we yelled out "we're u going"? he said back to their team hotel which was actually on our way so we said jump in we'll drop u off.
As we were pulling out spenser came walking outta maccas so he ended up jumping in too.
Anyway we got to the hotel and cullen invites the girls in- they said what about the boys? and he said nah they cant come- so the girls politely declined.
I thought what a prick- we give u a ride then u try cut our grass haha.
spencer was actually a real gentlemen but cullen was ruthless as.
Anyway we went home with the girls so fark them haha- park footy leaguies 1- all blacks 0 :finger:

Looking at the ticket website the East stand is close to sold out but there are a fair few left on the West stand. The South stand is GA so you can’t tell and it looks like they aren’t selling the north bank.

Anyone know capacity if the north bank is closed? 22k ish?
25k i think.

At the homecoming game last year we had 26'500. I cant remember if the north bank was open. We were a couple beers deep by the time we walked in. 🤣🤣🤣

That’s a great yarn. Love it.

It's a bit weird having Greg Alexander as a Warriors sympathizer after all the water that has gone under the bridge.

I welcome it.

He is an astute critic if he takes his hate tinted glasses off, he will make some observations that many of us know already (the difference is with us we see hundreds of hours of these players, Alexander is watching in bit parts live).

He rates Montoya and Jazz as hard men and I am so pleased for Montoya that some in the Aussie media are noticing him now, took a couple of years of hard work to get rid of his poor Rep from his pre Warriors life line.

If you watch Montoya he has the Gordon Tallis eyes, and he is always focussing on what is happening on field, his intensity is nutter level, just what our young and easily distracted or inattentive backs need.

A huge problem for Warriors local backs is the confidence player thing. Having Montoya around them is just the ticket, they can learn how to get back up like he does after Montoya stuffs up and go again at a hundred miles an hour like it never happened.

I cannot wait for the other nutter winger Dallin Watene-Zelezniak to come back, the twins are part of what makes our side have the missing fiery element to the backs.

Rare for a Warriors side to have these Michael Hancock type guys in the back line, we always rely on the fire coming from the forwards.

Which is why the Francis Meli era was so special / not easily repeated, we scout backs that are athletic when what we should be looking for is aggression.

I've noticed that with brandy too.
I think it was a very tough/ sad time in his life but maybe as hes getting older his perspective may be changing and he can sort of separate the death of his brother and his time spent here.
Obviously we never saw the best of him here but he was a brilliant player- one of my favs actually.

I actually find him ok as a commentator. I wonder if some people mistake him making an honest comment about the warriors with hate. Let's be honest, we have been garbage for a few years now. Then when we are playing well and he makes honest good comments about us they think he is softening.

Perhaps some people need to realize we were shit and deserved bad comments and so far this season we are playing well and deserve good comments.

The lose of his brother is a very sad story.
Involves people who are still around today which must be a terrible reminder to him

I won't go into the details further for obvious reasons but I for one know the truth

Brandy deserved a little bit of what he cops from Warriors fans.

I have heard that guy countless times mock the Warriors and laugh about them.

I agree we did it to him.

We were shit and so the mockery is earned.

However, when a horse is so lame and down in the gutter, for so long, death riding them eventually becomes a cheap shot. Especially since the Warriors were so bad that they might collapse out of existence.

If it were me, I would have backed off before Brandy did.

Anywho....he became a Warriors supporter because of Phil Gould becoming a Warrior, and obviously now Webster is here he is a guilty pleasure Warriors secret fanatic....win win for all of us...I should mention Wade Egan too.

But hey, all we want is for people, whoever they are, that call this game, to pay attention to the full story of the Warriors and the Refs and the travel and the salary cap issues, and Greg Alexander is looking like he is gonna be that informed guy.....weird how life works....I sense the Gods in this.....
