Yeah I dunno, I think the NRL are going to have to make some decisions around this stuff soon as it's becoming a bit of a cluster f**K.

1. Walsh and May has clash. Penalty for Walsh. Ref says duty of care on the tackler. Not charged

2. CHT against Rapana. Penalised but then overturned by the 3rd ref as Rapana was not intentionally careless.

3. Leo Thompson v Papz. Penalty and now he's missing at least a week on the sidelines.

Where the fook is the consistency

I don't see much of a role for CHT as a utility bench player if the weekend is anything to go by.

Tuaplki injured so they shifted RTS to full back and Capewah to centre.
Presumably this means if a wing goes down it is RTS to wing and Capewah to centre.
And if a centre goes down it is straight Capewah to centre.

CHT will only really provide utility cover to hooker and the halves.

That realisation means that on days when Egan is playing it will be Lussick that gets the bench spot and not CHT.

We were on the right side of some tough and go decisions.

There were some puzzling ones though like the Ford play the ball. I might need to rewatch that though as I couldn't see anything wrong with it. He even looked apprehensive the next time he had to play the ball. He looked about as confused as Don Mattingly when Mr Burns asked him to shave his sideburns.

The CHT fall when he tried to catch the high ball is another one. Usually it is a dangerous position, penalty. The ref said he jumped too early. He still fell in a bad position. It's like the ref dismissed it as he's uncoordinated. There was a similar incident in the Storm game and despite Thompson looking at the ball the safety of the jumper was more the concern. The commentators made a comment that Papenhuyzen won the competition and the chance to compete for the ball. CHT didn't have anyone else going up either if I remember correctly.

Yes, and I should have said that. In the championship minutes Montoya kept his composure and made some good tackles. OK you have turned me around a little bit.
My other reason I have against him is there was a one percenter moment in the melbourne match with 4 minutes to go where Montoya made a catch and they tackled him and bullied him back into the in goal and got a repeat set from which they scored. I felt Ed as the bigger man would have made back into the field of play and I also felt on that one percenter play that Marcelo didn't fight with all his being to get into the field of play. Looked like he was just pleased he defused the kick.
But yes granted Montoya caught my eye in the last ten minutes as someone who really stood up when it counted.
Needs to be more consistent across the 80 minutes if we keep picking him.
Agree with everything you've said re: Ed Kosi, my 2cents re: Monty, I wasn't a big fan of Monty's, however when he captained the team in the first pre-season game 2024, he opened my eyes to the kind of person he was - great on the field and off it too.

From memory and my initial reaction to the ref saying he jumped too early was in relation to CTH putting himself in a dangerous position and so assuming he meant the onus not on Jordan R to ensure he landed safely, I thought Jordan R put him in a dangerous position - once again we don't get the fifty fifty calls.

How fast did Luke look when he ran Monty out though, when he gets those blitzing runs going with a few gaps and numbers it's going to be magic.

Don't shoot me but this (at the moment) is a weakness in his game.

Everyone looks fast running towards the corner post...

Metcalf has to find a way to straighten up his run - it's not possible to unlock the left with his natural run angle to the corner post.

Compare his run to push Montoya out vs his run and pass to put him away in the corner.

You may be right but also remembers this was CHTs first run in the NRL for over a year. Also remember that Walker is back and can cover Centre.

True he's never drawing anyone or creating space running that angle against set sliding D, I was just shocked at his acceleration, not used to seeing that kind of speed in a Warriors jumper.

Just watching SJ presser and he is very happy with Luke.
After all he has been through the Aussie system and has a great grounding that home grown halves don't have.
He's happy with him doing the goal kicking also

They shifted Walks there previously , but no walks so capewah.
Versatility insane.
I imagine they'll just sub on marata for any 3/4 second row or middle issues.

Disagree. They HAD to sign Lussick. Egan is one bad hit away from a full season out. If Lussick walked and that happened, we'd be dead in the water.

Context, CHT could very easily be medium to long term plans, Lussick could be short to med

Exactly dummy half is probably the most important part of any team.
Gets hands on the ball more than anyone
We have tried non specialist 9s before without success
