Based on who is running around on the paddock at the moment and is either in great form or not exactly out of form I'd go with something like this:

1 Bailey Simonnson
2 Dallin Watene-Zelezniac (c)
3 Reimis Smith
4 Joseph Manu
5 Jordan Rapana
6 Dylan Brown
7 Jahrome Hughes
8 Jesse Bromwich
9 Brandon Smith
10 James Fisher-Harris
11 Joseph Tapine
12 Isaiah Papalii
13 Tohu Harris

14 Kodi Nikorima
15 Nelson Asofa-Solomona
16 Jared Warea-Hargreaves
17 Isaac Liu

18 Shaun Johnson (Halves cover)
19 Caleb Aikens (Fullback, wing cover)
20 Braden Hamlin-Uele (Prop cover)
21 Briton Nikora (Second row/lock cover)
22 Kenny Bromwich (Second row/hooker cover)

23 Starford Toa/Rocco Berry for experience

I'm assuming that Roger Tuivasa-Sheck won't play in the World Cup this year.
Kodi has also ruled himself out of contention.

1. Jahrome Hughes
2. Ken Maumalo
3. Jordan Rapana
4. Joseph Manu
5. Dallin Watene-Zelezniak

6. Dylan Brown
7. Shaun Johnson

8. Jesse Bromwich
9. Brandon Smith
10. James Fisher-Harris
11. Corey Harawira-Naera
12. Isaiah Papali'i
13. Tohu Harris (c)

14. Benji Marshall
15. Kenny Bromwich
16. Jared Waerea-Hargreaves
17. Nelson Asofa-Solomona

Joey offers some versatility having recently played in the halves in addition to his position in the centres. Kind of hoping we get someone into the squad who would normally be pinched by the Aussies for Origin, just think the Kiwis needs a bit of luck in that regard.

1. Jahrome Hughes (his ability to beat a man one on one, his passing game and kicking option too)
2. Dallin Watene-Zelezniak (has always been solid for the kiwis hopefully he can find early form with the Warriors)
3. Morgan Harper (just because he has a awesome moustache and we can’t pick RCG lol also he’s a brilliant defensive centre and attack is ok)
4. Joey Manu (because he’s gorgeous)
5. Ken Maumolo (though he’s a slouch he’s actually not a bad finisher)
6. Dylan Brown (Fast for a half, kicking game is decent and is young)
7. Shaun Johnson (Will be the leader with Dallin Watene-Zelezniak in the backline, will take full control)
8. Jesse Bromwich (Forward leader)
9. Brandon Smith (Will lift for the Kiwis)
10. James Fisher-Harris (Mr Intensity! Will throw everything in)
11. Briton Nikora (Good combo with Johnson, surely will lift for the kiwis despite being poor for the sharks)
12. Isaiah Papaalii (No doubt will be a beast for the kiwis and deserves it too!)
13. Tohu Harris (another leader will have the same composure as Bromwich)

14. Benji Marshall (Hopefully used the same as South’s)
15. Kenny Bromwich (Underrated been really strong for the Storm wouldn’t be mad if he started instead of Papaalii)
16. NAS (because he’s a giant and he’s intimidating!)
17. JWH (because he’s tough and a decent player)

absolutely scary side if can be fit for the whole tournament!

The Maori All Stars is the nearest they have got to getting a game, so at least there is a spine to the team in particular the 2020 team. The Storm form the nucleus to the squad for the cup.

Is Roger Tuivasa-Sheck available?
Is cnk expected to be back this year?
I doubt Roger Tuivasa-Sheck will be available. Seen a few union articles where they have mentioned about getting him into the Auckland NPC side once his NRL commitments end so he can start his transition as soon as possible.

Here is one from a week or two back.

Not real conclusive I know but it shows the union guys are hoping for him to arrive this year. Not going to get anything conclusive unless where hear from the man himself.

They will want to transition him in intensity NPC-Super Rugby- ABs squad. No way will they risk him getting injured for the kiwis

He will more than likely turn out for one of the island nations or the USA who he has represented in the past. How would he stack up with the current stock of Kiwis?
