If you have any questions/comments/concerns about Richard Fale and his bid, please post here what they are. He has agreed to reply to them.
He says he knows what is wrong with the Warriors and how to fix it. Give an example of what is wrong and how he intends to fix it.

He’s made comments around using the Warriors to showcase Polynesians in a different light, how much of his reason for owning the Warriors is driven towards Polynesians exclusively and has he stopped to think about the impact on long term fans and members who consider the club a Kiwi side first and foremost?

The following 3 examples are just a few issues we have identified with varying degrees of difficulty in solving.

1. Absentee ownership does not convey the, passion, energy, urgency or motivation required for setting the organization on fire to achieve a specific goal, in this case it would be a championship. This is resolved by having ownership that is on the ground actively working towards that goal.

2. Head coach is not fully empowered to make all personnel decisions surrounding the team. Because it is his job that is on the line he should be fully allowed to make decisions for his team. Resolution to this issue is purely administrative internally within the organization.

3. The fan experience at the stadium has to be improved to help fill the place to capacity to fully give the players on the field the full effect of home field advantage. Being able to accomplish this goal will take significant capital improvements to the stadium, around things like free high speed wifi, bringing a wider range of merchandise in better price ranges.

The team is 100% a New Zealand organization built on a Kiwi base. We do not intend or plan to alter or change any of that.

You say you want to take games to Hawaii, the Warriors already have to travel the longest distance out of all the NRL sides how would you make it work?
This is a serious concern. Our central focus is putting the team in the best position to win that championship, any other travel plans would be secondary to that. Most likely scenario is to ask the home team of one of our away games if they would be willing to move their home game to a place like Hawaii, Las Vegas, or Los Angeles.

thank you Richard for talking to us. We are passionate fans, so the thing for us is that you dont attempt to ostracize any of us or the players by making this into a race thing. We Kiwis want an inclusive sport, and the new owners comments should reflect that.

Junior development is critical to the long term success of our club yet in the past our pathways haven’t produced Nrl quality players like we’d hope, what’s your plan for Junior development?

Our organization functions under 2 priorities:

1. Welfare of the players.

2. Obsession with fan engagement and communication.

You will find us open and transparent about anything and everything. We want the fans to know and understand that this is their team, if we acquire it, it means we carry a massive responsibility to them.

The edge of insanity
Richard, you state the Coach does not have full empowerment to make personnel decisions regarding the team.

How do you see this current situation affecting his job & how would your ownership group change that?

We have found a concerning problem with the cohesive relationship between the NZRL, ARL and the Warriors, the 3 largest bodies in NZ for RL. The overwhelming majority of junior development seems to happen in and around Auckland so there needs to be an intense focus getting stronger growth and cohesion across those 3 organizations.

But the big question is can egos be put aside now with the ARL and yourself coming to disagreements? I think for the sake of the Warriors future you may need them to be onside with your organisation.

This one is completely administrative, and therefore fully under our control. In this particular case we would tell coach Kearney this is your team, here are the legal and financial parameters (from the NRL, government, etc) we have to abide by, what do you want and what do we need to do to support you fully.

Richard - Thank you again for your time, two more quick questions.
Did you enjoy watching the game on Saturday and what was the highlight for you?
People have been speculating that the Mormon Church is one of the consortium that you represent. IS it? and if so how does this affect your long term strategy for the club?

I agree with egos getting in the way of everything. That is why I want a fully open and transparent discussion on this matter in full view of the fans and members of ARL. We are concerned that given the significant resources of the ARL that there is very little to show for it, especially on the junior development side and the number of registered participants they have. We should discuss, set a plan with goals and then hold everyone accountable to achieving those goals. Egos and everything else need to take a back seat to the success of the game here in NZ.

Unfortunately I didn't get much time to watch the game, so I will have to watch it on replay. My mission and objective there yesterday was to get a feel for the facilities on game day and to understand how the fans felt about their experiences both on game day and in the past, also what would be the one or two things that could be done to improve their experience, that didn't leave me with much time to watch, but I really enjoyed hearing the roar of the crowd as the team was marching to victory.

The Mormon church has no affiliation with our group, the majority of our group are also not of the Mormon faith either.

Hi Richard - really appreciate you engaging with us. You may have read through this thread and seen some concerns expressed about the potential sale. I am not sure if you are aware of a recent instance where Nathan Tinkler purchased the Newcastle Knights. Long story short, his ownership only lasted scant years and resulted in the Knights coming last two years in a row immediately after due to how messy the parting of ways was. Here is an article written after the split in case you aren't familiar with that situation. https://www.theherald.com.au/story/2364195/game-over-how-tinkler-lost-the-knights/

I have three questions for you:
1.) Should things not pan out how you envision them, is there are sort of fallback plan so that we do not lose our club?

2.) The Tinkler period was marred by experienced Rugby League personal being overruled on training and recruitment by somebody that does not have their experience (see; Knights come last two years in a row). Our club is finally seeing results this year (though it is very early) should those good results continue, will Stephen Kearney and his staff retain their autonomy? I understand making changes if we are on a 10 game losing streak by the time your purchase comes into effect, but if results are good, will he be allowed to continue as is?

3.) There has been a lot of talk about taking games to America / Hawaii. Will this effect the number of Warriors games in New Zealand or will you look to convince opposition teams to take THEIR home games state side?

Thanks again.

after your first Warriors Game Yesterday, What would you do first regarding the stadium and fan experience?
It was difficult to gauge where the problems really were, there were no significant lines at entry, the bathroom, concession stands, etc, so until we get another 10,000 people into the games assessing those particular parts will be difficult. The easiest one right now to identify is high speed wifi access. Having free wifi should be a basic part of coming to Mt. Smart stadium.
