Warriors will go back to the NSW competitions. We've always needed at least one full feeder team to ourselves.

Potentially dangerous having an actively recruiting expansion team getting a good look at our depth players everyday in Redcliffe and building those relationships. Wouldn't be surprised if guys like Kosi, Murchie, Ale, Pride, etc sign with Redcliffe for 2023.

The Warriors will definitely have to find another arrangement. I'd assume the Dolphins will have an NRL side with a Q Cup side feeding that side. Having an arrangement with the Warriors one of their competitors would be hard to work.

Usually its a one to one relationship with Queensland or NSW Cup side to one NRL side.
Didn't the sharks and storm share a feeder squad a few seasons ago?

As long as it's not the kepu twins or our other promising youngsters. Kodi will be handy for Redcliffe.

Even if the Dolphins partnership was to only last another season, it has actually been a bit of a masterstroke in terms of timing. Set up just before COVID hit, if it wasn't already established it would have been hard to organise on the run.

Let's hope travel between NZ and Aus is opened up early/mid next year (like everyone is currently expecting), and the Warriors can get a couple teams back in NSW.

Storm , manly, east's........
Sort of , not really.....
Lol
Redcliffe could be it.
Storm would probably be the closest historically plus the whole ANZAC thing

Broncs a bit due to first game and we didn’t beat them for the longest

Cows maybe as entered same year.

Dragons were our bogey team

I thought it was the Titans, those snow blowers will never win the comp before us. Redcliff might, no point starting a rivalry that's doomed end up with their captain and coach consoling us in the sheds again.

This doesn't say its official. Usual modern headlines where its sounds like its a done deal then adds set to.

Have to love how the other clubs are already expecting more of a hand out. I know their businesses will be under stress due to covid but even if there wasn't a pandemic they would be still be expecting more.

Some interesting points at the end of the article. The new club will probably have more in the bank in terms of capital than some of the currently broke clubs. A new free to air deal and it looks like the reduction in staffing and costs at NRL HQ has helped overall. The amount of money the broadcast deals increased by after they got out of the 10 year deal from after the Super League war they really should of been in a lot better financial position.

The new club will be required to have a $10 million (NZ$10.5m) bank guarantee per annum over the next five years to ensure it can stand on its own feet. The 17th team will not get any additional funds over the existing ones in order to start up.

There will be 12 additional games per season as a result of the inclusion of an extra team, with every side to get two byes.

The clubs were also told Rugby League Central was close to securing a new free-to-air deal, understood to be with the Nine network, the publishers of this masthead.

Had Covid-19 costs of $30 million (NZ$31.5m) not been incurred, the game would have made $80 million over the last financial year.

The NRL cut costs by $55 million (NZ$57.9m) to be able to distribute $376 million (NZ$395.8m) across the game. However, some clubs believe they should be given more money in order to grow their own businesses.

Warriors and dolphins partnership was only until the end of 2022. So didn’t really make a difference if the dolphins got the 17th spot or not. Ideally it will be a Nsw cup side and the most important one a SG Ball side
