Wasn't he part of the set up under Cappy but came and went in months?

Yes 6 months. He was brought in as temp fill in to take Cappys assistant role, when McFadden himself was elevated to head coach. He did enough to impress to be offered a 2 year deal in the short time but he opted to decline and head back to qld as his young family was still living there, and he does own a property investment company in the Sunshine Coast area. He does not seem to be moving from there it seems, and if we are still there, we could utilise him.

Next year is going to be strange in the NRL. First year since 1988 with Bennett not being in charge of a first grade side. Can extend that out a year with him being an assistant at the Raiders before taking on the Broncos job.

Lovely guy and done well at redcliff.
Don’t think he’s a long term option for us- didn’t enjoy living in nz.

Are the Dolphins a feeder club to anyone else? Dumanis Lui has some nrl experience. Done ok for the Raiders.

I remember back the Warriors NSW cup team he had horrible hands and made terrible defensive reads.

He may have improved on those things but now he’s getting on in age (is he 25?) so he’s probably closer to his ceiling and teams are more reluctant to give him a shot.

And he’s not the most balanced athlete. Very strong carrier but runs so upright and rigid.
