PLAYERS' PARTNERS AND FAMILIES SUPPORT RELAY FOR LIFE
While the Vodafone Warriors are on trial duty on the Gold Coast this weekend, the players' partners and families will be involved in the Cancer Society’s annual 24-hour Relay for Life event at Sovereign Stadium in Mairangi Bay.
Starting at 2.00pm tomorrow (Saturday) and running through until 2.00pm on Sunday, the events raises money for cancer research and support services.
This will be the fourth year the players' partners and families have entered a team – “The Pink Ladiesâ€Â.
The "Pink Ladies" are running two raffles to raise funds.
The first was sold at the first trial game against Canberra at North Harbour Stadium. The prize was a signed 2006 Vodafone Warriors jersey and training gear from Vodafone Warriors Awen Guttenbeil, Clinton Toopi, Brent Webb and Wairangi Koopu. That will be drawn at Sovereign Stadium on Sunday.
The second raffle will be sold over the weekend at the Relay for Life. The prize is a signed 2006 Vodafone Warriors jersey and a 2005 Tri-Nations match ball signed by Kiwi captain Ruben Wiki.
Tickets are $4.00 each and the winner will be drawn at 2pm on Sunday.
So anyone who wants to offer their support, head to Sovereign Stadium, buy a raffle ticket and join in. The stadium is at the Millennium Institute, 17 Antares Place (off Constellation Drive) in Mairangi Bay.
