After watching the weekend NSW game carefully. I honestly think James Gavet offers more than Bunty. I know it’s crazy, he can be a loose canon but he brings intimidation and some body on the line commitment that will have an effect that will add to our team. I am not sure if he can stay consistent but I was so impressed after thinking he was over the hill.

His presence will help to ensure the Sharks don’t intimidate our boys.
Not sure if he can, he's only on a NSW contract if that.

If he keeps up the form of the weekend, they will have to upgrade and find a spot for him on the bench. He was pretty controlled too. No penalties, nice and strong, direct and lots of contact and aggression. He probably needs a good 4-6 weeks to see if he is the real deal, but if he stays consistent, he’s gotta come in. I’m not sure what props that will be available on the market would offer a whole lot more.

Tough match against a professional squad
Grind, patience, defence, completions just to keep head above water

Egan back
Barnett in Tohu Harris can rest
Curren for Siro on the bench
Volkman for Te Maire Martin if required

The least movement of roles and positions as possible, leave the mongrel bros on the bench as this bench rotation is a huge weapon

Defence is huge against sharks with Hynes having a blinder, I would consider a defensive centre pairing

Next step of our plan needs to be support play runners
I think you’re bang on. The Sharks centres are Nasty and always dominate us.
Sharks are our new bogey team.
Our centres and Edge back rowers are going to be busy … otherwise our wingers are going to be busy trying to chase down their wingers while they’re diving for the corner.
Our Ben h will get a good hit our this week against these guys. Hopefully Tom Ale can get a few more minutes.

I expect a heavy loss but it'll be a very interesting gauge of Webby 's new systems against a genuine gun team who are way ahead of us in development, Sharkies will be looking at this year and next as their prem windows with Nicho behind that elite pack.

Our mini mongrel bros could be a point of difference, more likely to get steamrolled but I won't see it as a demoralising loss like the last few years, it's a learning opportunity for Webby. The things we tell ourselves, only this time it's true.

going to throw out a speculator ... and not one well timed for this week, but hear me out : thinking about how well our defence is holding up so far (as others have mentioned, pretty much leaked the least number of points out of those teams on 4 games played) barring those shaky starts ... and also noting that while our attack has some good shape it's not quite biting yet ... and considering we have the weapon that is Metcalf to come back ... maybe, just maybe you could consider moving an excellent defender and organiser like Te Maire Martin to a centre spot and bring Metcalf into 5/8 when he's proven fit, for that extra speed...? ready to be shouted down on this.

Egan’s 11-Day period ends on Wednesday- he comes in for Lussick.

Curran comes in for Sironen if he is out, pretty straight forward swap.

Watene-Zelezniak is due back but I would rather he spent a week in Cup to knock the rust off since Kosi has been playing well.

I would prefer to keep Vailea in even if Williame is healthy- put Williame in Cup for a week or at 18th man.

If Martin failed his HIA, Volkman comes in for him. No fluffing about with Walker or Egan there please, they will be far more effective in their natural positions.

If Harris is out, and Barnett is healthy, that is a straight swap. No need to try outthink the room there either.

Never thought I would say this, not this soon anyway

Kosi has done enough to keep his spot !!

Rest of those predictions look pretty good as well

We have been competitive in every match. No need to make that high risk high returns move unless we lose a few games
Also it has taken 3 or 4 games for our halves to gel and Metcalf and Johnson would also need at least 4 games to become good.
The die is cast, barring injury Te Maire Martin is our 6 this year. If Metcalf comes in then he goes to centre...which he probably doesnt have the tackling for.

Webster will pick the right 17.
Egan will make a decent amount of difference.
He has gone to another level.
The likely loss of Tohu Harris will hurt but hopefully Barnett comes back.
There are no easy games but I don’t think the Sharks are any better than some of the teams we have faced thus far.
I think Webster will think we were the better team by 10-12 points yesterday but it didn’t quite go that way but we still won.
We are a work in progress.
I think he will find the Sharks weak defensive spots, Moylan and Ramien. Hynes can miss a tackle or two.

I think it's time for Berry. We had no defensive structure or confidence last year which really found out our rookie centres. We are in a much better place and it's time for the opportunity. Although someone said Dallin Watene-Zelezniak out for 1 more week so you could wait until he is back? In saying that, there will also be other players out so the time is now!

I don’t think it’s time yet

We’ve got to keep continuity wherever possible

The chop and change from injury we can’t control but this we can

Berry will have his chance, and when that time comes I expect big things from him

Ok, out of curiosity what would change your mind for the time to be right?
