Very true, I feel confident in our goal-line defence, probably the first time since 2018. Our scramble D following runaway loose balls has shown improvement as well

We may win, but we won't necessarily be the same. Egan's been doing more than just providing good service so by that definition alone there's already a flow on effect expected. That's what makes it interesting to see. Hopefully others step up to bridge the gap or Lussick comes in and has a blinder in his own way.

For sure people are going to need to bridge the gap in his absence but the example I gave you should give some hope at least. Luke in 2018 was also an important part of our spine too and taking nothing away from Sam Cook but Issac Luke’s decorated career suggests he was a better player than Cook who I think was our third string choice at the time. Not underestimating Egan is a loss and playing well but if Lussick does his job and makes tackles that come his way we should be more than competitive. Good that like the better teams in the comp we look to have found our style and playing it across all 3 teams we’ve got in different grades, hopefully that’s good for Lussick to slot in.

Leading into the season I thought we were looking light at hooker, but that is not the case at all.

It was really interesting to see Sironnen go into dummy half after Egan went off instead of Jazz or Walker, pretty much reveals the priority of keeping those two as runners.

Walker played longer minutes than I was expecting, it slowed him down, but Jazz picked up the slack.

Lussick will do just fine since we are seeing the hookers role used to primarily feed to forwards who then shift the defence by passing.

Pompey is the only player we have that can mark up on the best attacking players in the world and stop them pulling off the usual hat trick against the Warriors.

Has to be the first choice center then daylight with our team set up. He is slow but dangerous at short range, the way he stood up to four defenders was pretty impressive to put Kosi away.

We would get more speed, creativity and he’ll be more prepared when he eventually steps into FB

And why not Metcalf at wing/centre when he comes back? Speed, creativity, kicking, passing and they can both cover multiple positions if we have injuries in game.

Some good ideas but why unsettle a pretty useful combination we have going?
Kosi just needs more FG time for his confidence.
I wouldn't be mixing it up with him just now.

Webby has said time and time again he prefers specialists in their positions.

Yeah - Webby has kept things simple.... he has clear roles for every position / player. Reminds them what they are good at 1 on 1 and tells them to be themself ...go hard and enjoy it! He never muddies the water. The players know whether they are starters / bench players or first drop if injuries and suspensions occur. Sir Alex Ferguson was a master at man management - with players and not playing them but keeping them happy. He would tell them that they would be rested for a game (or 2) - as they were needed for a game later on and he wanted them rested as they were very important to their plan. The players said they would go to his office - told they wouldn't be playing yet leave happy and excited for their next involvement.

Hearing TT talk after the game on how much Charnze Nicoll-Klokstad has helped him and that shows that Charnze Nicoll-Klokstad is a good team mate but also secure knowing the position is his (for now) and TT after being told the day before that he is number 2 fb but he will be an NRL player for years to come... and his time will come. He was stoked to play his role.

Metcalf is probably, and I use the word probably as an optional adjective as certainly would actually be a better adjective, the worst defender and tackler in our 30.
He has no place at centre.
