Purple Haze is in my brain, lately things don't seem the same.

I hope they go for it and give Haze his shot. He is a skilled player and a dangerous runner.

Its time to give the next generation their shot.

Got to be like Riki Stew-wart man, like wot he done for Nicol Kloookstar, put up with a few off games and persevere.

It is a contest between Hayze and Montoya, Personally I would go Hayze.

Hayze has yet to make a 21 man squad in 3 rounds, is being shuffled around the QCup side and is willing to be traded out by the club.

Not sure how any of that makes him next cab off the rank.

He may not even come into the 21 man squad this week with Paul Turner there, as options Montoya or even Sironen are likely both well ahead of him at this point.

Sironen no, Montoya maybe. Brownie seems to like specialists playing positions, Sironen is a good injury option for Hooker or Centre, not starting. Do they see Montoya as a Winger and fill in Centre or vice versa.

Hayze has the advantage as he has played Centre for the Warriors and has match fitness on his side. We will see tomorrow.

For anyone asking for Sironen to play centre put on the highlights and watch the race to the ball for the Whitehead try.

Remember when people used to leave Murdoch-Masila out of their 17? Said he’d struggle with the speed of the NRL? Y’all crazy boy!

Play the same 17, but Fusitua is on thin ice with me lol
True bro. I was in the Ben Murdoch-Masila can play camp nah nah nah.

Jokes aside. He is getting his fitness back, looked fitter yesterday.

For people wondering why he is not fit, he missed a lot of preseason, he got stuck in England for an extended period and then missed two weeks in quarantine on top of that.

Good points.

Some will judge Brown if he picks Montoya, what fans never see is what is going on off the playing field.

I try not to judge the coaches picks in teams, it is like saying you know better of what is happening at the Warriors than someone who works there, it is unlikely to be true.

Too true Dave 👍. This time last week there was some talk on here about how we didn't want SOS. He wasn't sensational but went pretty good.

Hayze in for Hiku. No brainer.

Done with Hiku, I don’t know why I expected him to learn basic defensive concepts over the offseason. Hopefully the Broncos will take him in a swap deal.

I’m giving Fusitua another chance. I think a lot of the blown defensive coverages on his side were more the fault of Hiku and Nikorima. He needs to show some urgency this week or he’s gone aswell. Sick of his half arse efforts in recent weeks.

I'm happy to see Hayze slot in there as the only change
Don't mess with our forward pack
Looking forward to this forward battle
Our line defence obviously needs a bit of work
Maumalo needing to Bunty Afoa his returns, would love to see him dragging some defenders with him
Bring out the beast and finish the game looking like he's actually been to battle just like The Beast!
Sunday can't come soon enough...

Good points. The only out with this is coaches can get favourites within the squad (eg Kata) and stay faithful to a player because they train well...

Indeed they do favour good trainers at a slack arse club.

The solution of course is to recruit almost exclusively good trainers so that it is a norm a baseline and is no longer a point of difference between one player and another.

The Warriors need to do this more than any team in the NRL.

I've been pretty pissed off with our defence, especially Hiku but after watching last weeks game and seeing our whole edge jamming in I thought it cant be a coincedence so I did some asking around and sure enough, Justin Morgan is our defensive coach. Didnt work in 2016 or with the Kiwis. I'll give his rushing umbrella till Blueys round...

As SO'S showed against the Raiders, every position has it's core roles, players coming in just have to do those core roles like he did. It is good to have brilliance, but not if those roles are not done.

It is different for a Half as there is an organising element to it, which SO'S also did well, as a guy I played with said, beat one man, you are good, beat two you are great, beat three you are brilliant, beat four, you are a greedy prick.

Outside a bad game from Peta and Kodi not running often enough, Im very happy with what the team is delivering, should be 3/3 to be fair.

Peta is injured I believe, so that would be the only real glaring issue.

Its amazing what a bit of EXPANSIVE football can do to make you feel confident in your team again haha. No 12 weeks Mr Brown, you arent leaching 2 years of mediocrity from this very good team.

So many options, so many positives.

Just need some focus on defense, and SoS wrestling the ball from Kodi for game management and playing composure early on and more grubbers and running on the final and less horribad up and unders from Kodi and I think we will be sweet as. Kodi, just run, draw and pass, and jet the hole when you create one with the ball in 2 hands, looks 20x the player when he does that.

Very happy. But no way this team should not make the 8 this year, no exscuses from management or the coach or the players. And my dream of the Warriors being based in Aus, imo, is paying off, with no where to hide from a vastly different critic field and press post match and all through the week in Aus, after a poor game like they can in Auck. I think the NZ players experiencing the pressure of being in Aus is doing them the world of good. But once back in NZ, Id love to see us in a new stadium that is easier for every person in Auck to access. Maybe some success this year might see some interest from an investor or too, time will tell.

Did they list the team with the worst draw this year? Warriors playing a lot of top 8s twice again, was 2nd worst last year, it looks worse this year.

A win this weekend and I think we could have a revolution on our hands :)
