Pick Your Team 2018 Rnd 18 - Broncos vs Warriors

Broncos 1.jpg

After the Round 17 game against the Penrith Panthers at Panthers Stadium do you want to see any changes for the Round 18 game against the Brisbane Broncos at Suncorp Stadium?

Promotions?
Demotions?
Any new injury concerns?
Any returning players?
Any tweaks to the bench?

Not even sure who we have to bring in. Beale in for Hiku is the obvious one with a forward coming on to the spare bench spot. Not sure who that is though other than Lisone lol.

Lawton can come in for Tevaga although I still say I wouldn't mind Jazz if he was only used for 20 minutes at the end. Playing him as a prop for 60 minutes is total bonkers.

Also a bit of advice from a professional armchair coach here - If your team is out on its feet and getting killed through the middle, perhaps try using your 3rd interchange before the 63rd minute.

Same team as this weak except Beale for Hiku who is dropped totally.
Capt. Mannering to the bench.
Tevanga also dropped totally and replaced by Lawton.
Kearney and Corvo to work exclusively with the forwards this week to drill some mongrel, pride and starch into them. With that done hopefully we will get some go forward, some line speed, some offloading and some front foot ball for the backs for a change.
Kearney needs to call the forwards out after tonight's performance.....five words, piss weak, woeful, gutless, embarrassing.

Hiku could do with a week or two spent in an MMA gym.
Beale can cover.
Pulu and Tohu need to come back.
Papalii is great and all , but he is still really young.
Mannering is now a bench player unfortunately.
Tevaga is too small. Bring him on when we have momentum. Not when we need it.

Not really a lot of drastic changes that can be made. Having all players back from injury would be a bonus. It’s up to the forwards to start performing as the halves can’t control play until we have dominance up front.

SK needs to stop trying to re invent the game IMO. Tevaga playing a small forward role just doesn't work against teams with decent forward packs, just puts us on the back foot in defense and making metres. A back on the bench is basically a wasted spot.

We need specialist second rowers playing. So many times last night it was SJ to Hiku direct, with no second rower in sight. How easy is that to read for the defence? Just slide out wide - There are only 3 options, no big dude running over you to think about.

It's poor recruitment and planning if we have no one to play 12 for 4 weeks. Why the fuck did they sign Love-Henry? Too many locks, not enough guys with speed and skill in the forward pack, and it's been found out.

We can't make wholesome changes, the backs couldn't do much with back foot ball, the forwards couldn't do much because they were shattered from defending. We were defending because of bad discipline and dumb footy.

Is King Vuniyayawa ready for a second row bench spot? I haven't seen a lot of ISP this year so don't know how he's been going overall but I've seen some glimpses of promise. Are we allowed to use him until Pulu and Harris are back? Whatever we do with the bench rotations over the next few weeks it has to be different to the failures of the last few rounds.
